Derrick Mark Brown, MD

I made an appointment with Dr. Brown for annual check up back in May, and received a confirmation message yesterday. I took half day off and went to the office this morning at 8:00 am. After 20 minutes of waiting, the receptionist told me that the doctor is not in the office today. Instead of trying to fix the problem, she claimed they had called me days ago trying to reschedule. I had no memory of such phone call. I understand that things go wrong, but why do they wait for 20 minutes to tell me that? where did the confirmation msg come from? Btw, the lady kept saying "they" have blabla as if she does not work there. Dr. Brown maybe a great guy, but I just cannot trust someone who cannot honor a simple appointment.

HE IS THOUGHTFUL, CONCIENTIOUS,TAKES HIS TIME, ANSWERS ALL QUESTION, EXTREMELY CARING.

I should have followed my instincts. Male chauvinism is not for me. Not for the staff either, as I have not seen them smile or be kind in 5 years. Should have left sooner but it is not easy finding doctors.

Dr. Brown is our physician for some 20 years plus! He is the most caring doctor; me and my wife met. He is caring the office staff the nurses secretaries are all just the pleasure to know! We can not compliment his service enough! God Bless him and his family and most of all, we thank Dr. Brown for having taken care both of us! Dr. Brown you are the BEST and WE Thank You for caring!

I have nothing but good things to say about this man. Best primary physician I've ever had, hands down. He's straight to the point, but polite, and has just enough of a sense of humor to make you feel comfortable. He did a lot of investigative work to get to the bottom of my complaints, spent ample time conversing with me, and referred me to the appropriate sources to further treat my complaints. I trust him considerably, and I've been recommending him to my friends and family.

I've been going to Dr. Brown for years and always loved him for basic health issues. His office staff is horrible, nothing more can be said about them. Dr. Brown has always been a great doctor. However, lately he has gotten a new computer system, where he sits in the room in front of the computer for the entire visit, reading aliments off a screen.... I mean really... I could do a google search and get this, why did you bother going to medical school? I want a doctor to look at me, not a computer. Then I had a rash that itched; he told me not to worry about it. He's fine for a cold but anything difficult, don't bother. I found another doctor and I'm much happier now.

The primary problem is the front desk staff. They are rude and uncaring. I am a cancer patient and was told I would have to take yet another day off from work to simply obtain a referral. In this depressed economic times Dr Brown and the rest of the doctors should take a good look at their front office staff. There are plenty of people that would be professional, and kind, so the practice would continue to thrive rather than lose patients like myself, and my family members

there are several docs in this practice, but I usually see Dr. Brown. nice guy and a competent practitioner. he tends to be in and out quickly, though. the practice has a huge volume of patients, so I have found that if you schedule and appt. for very early in the morning, before other patients start coming in, you are usually in and out quickly with minimal wait time. the later in the day you go, you will probably be seen late as the docs always seem to be running behind. they seem to book too many patients during the day. overall, though, I am satisfied with this practice. Dr. Catanese in this office is a very good physician as well.

Dr. Brown was great when it was an easy diagnosis. Last visit I was told my symptoms "didn't make sense." Made to feel like an idiot. Told me to come back when it got worse. I said worse would be passing out in public. He said to try not to. New doctor the next day diagnosed and treated me for panic attacks. Would NEVER recommend for anything other than a common illness.

He's to the point but polite about. Up front and candidte with treatment options but always open and willing to discuss and address any concerns. Of all the doctors I've had over the years - he's the best one!
