Dr. Derrick D Cox, MD

Thanks to Derrick Cox, I won’t him a doctor because he doesn’t deserve to have that title. My father was not diagnosed properly by this man Derrick Cox, time and time again he told him that he did not have cancer. The only ability this man has is the gift of speaking and charging. Three times my father was admitted as a patient of Cox. He never diagnosed him nor ordered the correct tests for my father’s bilary/gallbladder cancer. It took a wonderful and real DOCTOR, Emmanuel Gorospe to figure out that my father had cancer. Up to the moment before Dr. Gorospe diagnosed him, Cox came to chat away and assured my dad that there wasn’t anything wrong with him, despite a highly elevated bilirubin count and a stint that didn’t work. Well, my father passed away recently but if it wasn’t for a REAL and incredibly intelligent Dr. Emmanuel Gorospe, my father would have passed away sooner. So if you to be treated by a failure of doctor, like Derick Cox, please by all means. He most certainly loves… to talk and charge, but is not worthy to be called a doctor. I’m forever grateful with Derrick D. Cox, MD. He has been leading my husband’s case who was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. Dr. Cox has passion and love for his profession and has helped us by referring us to the right people given the continuing treatment of my husband. He has shown humanity when answering our questions, he is always kind and takes us by the hand through every step. Thank you Dr. Cox, I bless your hands, your eyes, and every step you take. There are doctors who study medicine to cure, but you are a doctor that God chose to heal. You are his instrument to give healing. Took my father for an examination due to a Hernia and enlarged scrotum. Dr. Cox did not want to operate due to my father's age (85). He Kept giving us the round around and sending him to different doctors. We finally had to take dad to Emergency because he was in a lot of pain. Surgery was performed by another doctor.

Dr. Cox is a great physician took the time to explain the procedure and answered all my questions.

Messed up my surgery and then dismissed me .. at everyone's mercy .. dying

This doctor takes the time with you to answer all your questions. His staff is wonderful and very helpful.

Determined that surgey appropriate for family member, then delayed weeks before scheduling. Did not acknowledge deteriorating condition post surgery. Little evidence of teamwork or consultation with other MDs or staff at hospital. Did not work with discharge planning department to determine suitable post hospital placement or to prepare family for care post discharge. Bio says speaks Spanish; he does not. Did not contact family after patient passed away.

My mother is his patient in the hospital. He is an EXCELLENT doctor who has treated her like his own mother. He is patient, calm, courteous, and extremely competent. He knows what he's talking about and makes sure that we understand what he's doing or will need to do. In what is a very dehumanizing situation, he gives her humanity and dignity back to her. Thank you, Dr. Cox.

Dr. Cox was awesome before, during and after my procedure. He spent considerable time with me prior to the procedure, letting me know exactly what to expect. He called me at home the evening my procedure took place to see how I was doing, and the postop visit was the same as my visit prior to the procedure where he spent time ensuring everything was as it should be as well as took time to reinforce my recovery procedure, and so on. I highly recommend him.
