Dr. Diaz was always inclined to family medicine as a specialty mostly because of its emphasis on care for the community. Shortly after completing medical school, he accepted a position as a resident doctor at Mayaguez, Puerto Rico where he practiced for 3 years. After completing residency, he moved home to Miami to practice medicine.
