Dr. Derrick Lamonte Richardson

Dr Richardson was my mother’s liver specialist, she seen her primary care & they concluded her liver levels were way high. She seen him and at the first visit he told her she needed to stop drinking alcohol. She told him she doesn’t drink. Did them again at the next appointment & her levels were even higher. He proceeded to call her a liar & raised his voice as he did so telling her she needs to stop drinking and that there’s no way she isn’t drinking. My mother hasn’t drank alcohol in over 25 years. Instead of addressing the liver levels and finding the real source of the problem, he continues to tell her drinking is her problem at every appointment and doesn’t even take the time to listen to her when she has questions or concerns. Definitely don't recommend!

He made an unpleasant procedure bearable and took the time to answer my questions post procedure

I gave a four star only because of the wait time. I had read a few bad reviews on other sites and really wanted to write this good one. The wait time for my colonoscopy was really not anyone’s fault a prior patients procedure had taken much longer than expected. The nurses was amazing I was treated like royalty. I had no questions for the Doctor but he did ask if I had any concerns. I would recommend him and his staff.

Only time I have seen him was at the hospital and his bed side manner was really bad.

Dr. Richardson knows his specialty well. Really listens to his patients. Has professional staff that follow-up on patients questions. Recommend him.

Dr Richardson has been my doctor to nearly 10 years I believe he is the best GI doctor in town he's very nice listens and very smart on what he does I would send any one to him thank dr Richardson

I was dissapointed with Dr Richardson. I had heard from so many that he was a good dr. However, I didnt find my visit to be helpful at all. He gave a lot of suggestions, but mainly he was concerned about my weight. If I wanted to pay someone to tell me I was fat I would have just stayed home! There won't be a follow up, im not going to waste another penney!

i have IBD and my husband has Crohn's Disease. richardson has been our GI doc for the past 2 yrs. i have never had any doctor treat me with such kindness and concern. goes out of his way to spend extra time to see that we are taken care of. his nurse Jennifer is also amazing. they always make us feel as if we are their only patients. i don't know what went wrong with the person who left the prev. comment. they really need to take a second look. you're missing out on a wonderful doctor!

Dr. Richardson as a terrible bedside manner and is not good at treating people with stigmatized disease(HCV) with the proper manner and with dignity.
