Dr. Derrick Edward Tobias, MD

Was recently hospitalized he was my admitting Dr. He has very rude bedside manner. If you ask him questions about your care he gets very defensive and hateful he comes in and spends about a minute with me and takes off out the door while I’m still asking questions about my care????

Was rude and condencending to my wife and I at Nortons Audobon Hospital. Came into myroom and very loudly chastied my wife an I for demending that he release me after waitng 5 hours for him.

Dr. Tobias saw my father in the hospital after he had experienced a heart attack. My father had initially gone to the hospital to seek help for a loss of mobility (inability to stand or walk). We expressed our concerns about the focus being placed on the cardiac condition, and requested the assistance of a hospitalist to coordinate care with the heart and mobility problems. Dr. Tobias had a minimal consult with a neurologist and did not suggest an MRI because my sister and I suggested he could not have one based on metal in his legs from reconstructive surgery (something we had seen on "House" - this was not questioned by an actual medical professional). After a very basic physical examination, Dr. Tobias suggested that perhaps my father should see a psychiatrist, and was extremely rude, condescending, and dismissive of our concerns. My father has been diagnosed with a spinal cord injury and significant spinal cord atrophy nearly two months later in a rehab facility after seeing a… neurosurgeon at the suggestion of a Physical Therapist Assistant. Dr. Tobias completely failed my family and I would not recommend him under any circumstances.

This physician is one of the most responsive, respectful, thorough, caring and qualified physicians that we have ever experienced. His knowledge is comprehensive. His bedside manner is familial. His patience is extraordinary.

Can't recommend Dr. Tobias.He received his medical training on a small island, is not board certified and practices euthanasia.
