Dr. Deshon Tariq Moore, MD

I brought my father to the emergency room on Friday morning at about 10 a.m. . He is 88 and was experiencing severe shortness of breath. We waited in the waiting room for about 45 minutes. The nurse did come out and take his vitals and then we were told to go back and wait. He was finally called and the doctor on call was 'Deshon T. Moore. They gave him an EKG, chest x-ray, bloodwork and took his vitals. Dr. Moore told us all his test results came back fine and he can go home and follow up with his primary doctor. They called and said we have an appointment on Tuesday. I told the doctor I did not think my dad should go home. I was afraid he might have a heart attack. Dr. Moore kept saying he wont' have a heart attack all his vitals and test are normal. He said we can't run the test your father needs in the emergency room. There are procedures that must be followed. I was adamant about not sending my dad home. I asked is there some kind of test he can take to see if he has a clogged… artery. He said, "He can take a CT scan, but I'm positive nothing will show up and you will be here for about 4 more hours. I said that's fine give him the test. So it's about 4:00 p.m. now. So my dad got the test finally and I assume Dr. Moore's shift was over and another doctor came in. This doctor said the CT scan showed my dad had 2 blood clots in his lungs. The one on the left lung was big. So they admitted him. They also found a blood clot in each leg. By now it's about 9 p.m. If I had not refused to send my dad home he would have died in 48 hours. How can a doctor send someone home that is having a hard time breathing. I am very upset. I feel like because my dad is 88 years old, Dr. Moore was just going to send him home. Please have more compassion for the patients and listen. Everyone's life is important regardless of age and race. This is unacceptable !! When you became a doctor you took an oath. Honor that oath!!!
