Dr. Desiree Dana Brooks, MD

Absolutely horrible doctor. She talked to you in a condescending tone does not even evaluate just diagnoses you by looking at you walked away and never returns. I would trust a stranger with my life before I trusted her.

I went into the emergency with room with pain in my lungs and chest. ( I had been there a month prior with similar symptoms and was diagnosed with pneumonia). My previous xray from the month prior and my new xray both showed troubling signs in my lungs. Dr Brooks was very honest and didn’t sugar coat things which I appreciated and she took a lot of time with me to even look at a previous ct scan and lab work I had done. I ended up refusing the testing she recommended only due to my extreme fear of needles but if it worsens I will be returning to Alaska Regional.

If I could give 0 i would... Dr. Brooks barely spoke with me, mabye said a total of 10-15 words during her assessment and only visit to my room, and minimized my symptoms. I had to communicate with her through the nurse because she did not come back and talk to me about my condition after running a few tests. She refused all of my requests through the nurse and never came and faced me. She also said she didn't know anything about my situation, but then later the nurse said she had been talking like she was an expert on it. Shame on you Dr. Brooks, what if I committed suicide that evening? How would you feel? Hopefully the next guy is treated better.
