First, her staff is on top of things. From the front desk to the checkout desk, her staff is knowledgeable, organized, and caring. Second, Dr Black has been a Godsend. I had a vaginal tumor removed successfully with clear margins, and due to a compromised immune system, had a few complications, but never once felt panicked, alone, or desperate. I’m always so impressed by tremendously smart, successful people who are also humble, kind, caring, and funny…in other words “normal.” I pray that neither I nor any of my family & friends need her future help, but if we do, we’re in the best hands imaginable.

My experience with Dr. Black was positive. She was very informative about my cancer and took the time to explain the type of surgery I would have and the need for additional treatment to prevent a reoccurrance of the cancer. I felt very comfortable with her and would highly recommend her to anyone facing cancer.

As many have described Dr. Black is a genuine, caring, trustworthy doctor & person. My experience with her was one of hope, faith, & love. Hope in the view of her expertise dealing with cancer, Faith in the view of when obstacles arrived she would state this is just a speed bump in the road, Love in the view of genuinely caring for lives of people, doing what other doctors could not do. I have never trusted people easily, however with Dr. Black immediately a trust was there. She is awesome! Truly a shining star in a dark world. I love her for who she is.

The Shreveport area is very blessed to have a physician like Dr. Destin Black whose expertise is gynecology oncology. She is very specialized in minimally invasive, robotic or laparoscopic surgeries. She cares about you and your family as if you were her own. From a surgery nurse of 38 years who has worked with her and been her surgery patient.

I LOVE Dr Black. She is very personable and genuinely cares about her patients. She is very knowledgeable in gynecological issues. I was referred to her by my former doctor who was unable to remove all of my cancer. Dr. Black removed it all in one surgery. I have never found a doctor that I put any faith in or trusted must. None of them ever seemed to really care. Until Dr Black. I have total confidence in her. I actually look forward to my appointments with her. I cannot say enough good things about her.
