Dr. Devika Kommineni, MD

I see Dr Kommenini at Charles River and have had ZERO issues with feeling rushed or put off (from reading earlier reviews). I feel she actually cares and I think she's a good doctor. She did my pap smear with no issues during my yearly exam. I've never had any issues getting a timely appointment and the desk staff is always courteous.

Dr. Kommineni took the time to listen to me & have an actual conversation with me regarding the issues I was experiencing. I never felt rushed - I'm very happy that she took over the practice when my previous Doctor retired.

Was very nice and friendly in the beginning, however, now that the practice is growing doesn't seem to have the time. Been feeling rushed at the last few visits and when I'm there she never can find what she needs. Shouldn't all rooms be stocked the same? The front desk staff seems unqualified to be sitting there although they have been there for quite some time. Called once for a sick visit, explained to the receptionist who put me on hold for 8 minutes, then when she returned to the phone I had to explain it to her all over again. The end results was the doctor was too busy to see me. I feel this is unacceptable for a sick visit. After sending my pharmacy a request for a refill of a maintenance prescription 3 times (that ran out of refills), I found out they do not respond to pharmacy requests. The patient has to call the office for a request. This led to me not taking my prescription for 4 days because of their rule that they do not tell you about. Very unprofessional office!!!

I honestly think she's taken on too many patients to really be effective at her job. She seems like a very nice lady but you can tell when you see her that she is rushing through her day. She barely listens to anything you say. She jumps to the diagnosis without any test results and when that doesn't work in her favor, she pawns you off on a specialist she doesn't even bother to talk with. I have had two specialist say they cannot even get her to return a phone call to them about my situation. I have had her office staff just file important test results without anyone contacting me and I have had one scary incident where they detected a tumor on a scan and no one either looked at the results before they filed them or they just didn't care enough to call me about them. I found out by accident from the radiologist group and not from my doctor? That is unacceptable.

Went for my physical and she acted like I was a bother. Well I am sorry I am a woman and need to have a yearly pap. She made me feel so uncomfortable she asked why I didnt have an OB instead. Well lady I shouldnt need to unless there is a problem. She asked if there was cancer in my family. When I told her that my first cousin had the same cancer my grandmother did she said well that dont count.. REALLY???? she never did a breast exam. every one of what I feel is a medical issue is "normal" lady having to go to the ER a couple times a year is not "normal" I found myself an OB that knows what my complaints are NOT normal.Had no choice to go for a sick visit. again so uncomfortable! She cannot find anything in her office and just makes it appear she doesnt know what the heck she is doing.

Overall Dr Kommineni herself is personalable and knowledgable. Her Nursing staff is fantastic on the phone and in person. The lower score is a reflection of her Front Office Staff.Multiple times I waited in front of the glass partition without acknowledgement.I find the receiptionist disconnected.

I like Dr. Kommineni. She is thorough and has always given me referrals to any doctor of my choosing. I have had PCPs who did not listen to me or disregarded my concerns. This has never been my experienace with Dr. Kommineni. I do think that she works in a busy, difficult office, which may make you feel like she is rushed. However, she is still cautious, runs all the necessary tests, and listens to her patients.

HORRIBLE DOCTOR AND HORRIBLE FOLLOW UP CARE

NEVER EVER CALLS BACK-

I've been a patient of hers for 2 years. I'd see her again but I can't schedule an appointment because no one answers the phone when I call during normal business hours. I wait on hold for 20 minutes before giving up. At my last appointment all of the receptionists had gone to lunch when I came out of my appointment, so no one was there to sign me out or schedule a follow up. Time to find a new doctor.
