Dr. Diana Marrie Cantu, MD

I don’t know how KAISER and Palomar continue to employ Dr. Cantu. She was so rude, belittling and unprofessional to me and my husband. Immediately after having my baby she stormed in the room and yelled at me. Absolutely horrible bedside manner!!!!

If I could give this review no stars I would. Diana Cantu was extremely aggressive and rude. Zero bedside manor. Very judgmental! Yelled at my daughter and called her a bad mother for not taking her 3 hour glucose test just a few days after receiving her 1 hour glucose test results. My daughter proceeded to stick up for herself, having recent circumstances that prevented her from taking the 3 hour test, also having a toddler and a husband that works overtime to support his family. Dr Cantu in return raised her voice and belittled my daughter even more. I will be filing a complaint with Palomar Hospital in regards to Cantu’s unprofessional behavior. No dr should ever yell at a patient who is in such a vulnerable state.

Hello, I’m 25 years old and I delivered my first child with Dr. Cantu. She made my experience amazing and purely beyond all my expectations. She was so caring and knew exactly what she was doing. I felt incredibly takin care of and she was right there by my side, walking me through my labor every step of the way. I believe her shift had ended just as I was about to deliver, so I would have had a new doctor come in to take over and she went above and beyond and made sure to stay with me and delivered my little one instead of just giving me to someone new. I had expressed how badly I wanted her to stay and was very sad to have a shift change at this point.. The fact she cared to stay really showed the loving doctor she is. While in labor, my daughters heart rate dropped during one contraction and that should never happen so I was admitted before I was even dilated, and she monitored me very closely the entire time. 17 hrs later, Sure enough when my daughter was born the umbilical… cord was wrapped around her neck and Dr. Cantu removed it before I could even see it was there. I actually never saw it and I had a mirror during labor to watch the entire thing. My husband was very amazed by her fast yet gentle technique. My daughter is now 3 years old, beautiful and healthy and I wanted to leave a review about Dr. Cantu because she absolutely touched my life in a very special way and if I could deliver all my children with her I absolutely would. Due to my new insurance I no longer have kaiser permanente but I sure wish I did. I’m 24 weeks with my second baby and have worried about delivering with my new doctor because Dr. Cantu was just such an amazing caring doctor and no one has compared to her.. she set the bad high. It’s truly a shame she won’t be delivering my next little one. Lastly I want to mention that Dr. Cantu took the time to find my new room that was on a completely different floor than delivery, the next day after my daughter was born just to come in and bless me with some of the most heartfelt and touching words anyone has ever said to me. I was in tears... She also gave me hand made earrings she had made herself that she wanted me to have. I will forever remember her and cherish that moment. I know I will never have an experience with a doctor like that again, it just doesn’t happen anymore. She is a beautiful and loving woman and I will recommend her time and time again.

Dr. Cantu & staff did a total hysterectomy on me back in 2012, I must say they were all wonderful to me and the surgery went great. Thank you all for everything.

Dr. Cantu is the most caring and informative doctor I have ever met!! She took the time (when there really was no time) to inform me step by step on her thoughts (plans) and made me feel very confident in her care!! I am so grateful to her for everything she has done for me and my daughter! She is truly my angel!!

I was greatly surprised on how much this doctor actually cared about my health. This is what all Doctors should be like.

Dr. Cantu is more than a doctor to me. She is like friend I can trust with my health and my life. On my very first appointment, she spent an hour with me going over my medical history and talking with me about my feelings and my family. She made me feel so comfortable.....as if I had known her for years. Whenever I have a question, I email her and she always answers back. If you are looking for a caring, experienced Gyn/Ob doctor, she is the BEST!

Dr Cantu has completely restored my faith in Kaiser. I've been a member for years and have never had a better doctor. She, unlike all my previous kaiser doctors, made me feel like i was a person and not just a number. She did not judge me based on my medical conditions and went above and beyond diagnosing and treating me. When i had surgery i was extremely nervous. She did her best to put me at ease by sitting with me before surgery and walking along side me as they wheeled me into the operating room. After my surgery she called me a few times to check up on me. Over all i'm very pleased with the care i receive from Dr Cantu!

Very compassionate and caring doctor, I had never met her untill the day of my delivery but, nontheless she was very sweet and professional. She delivered my first daughter via c section and I was very scared being a fisrt time mom but, she held my hand and assured me everything would be ok. My daughter was deliverd perfectly healthy and I had no complications recovering from surgery. Love DR CANTU...=)
