Dr. Diana Harbison, MD

Dr. Harbison saw my family member for approximately two years about 20+ years ago. They were in High School at the time. She placed this family member on medication & misdiagnosed them. It has been twenty years now since that misdiagnosis & the psychiatrists that they saw afterwards continued to misdiagnose them as schizoaffective. Dr. Harbison told this family member to share with their friends that they were psychotic, that it was healthy to do that. This family member told the kids in their high school classs & any friends that they made that they were psychotic & this was NOT TRUE, THEY WERE NOT PSYCHOTIC!! They had NOT lost touch with reality. Finally, an extremely, competent, psychiatrist diagnosed them correctly with Non-Psychotic OCD with thought disorder & Generalized Anxiety Disorder. There was NO indications of psychosis & now this person is suffering from PTSD as the result of the loss of 20+ years of their life with the wrong diagnosis along with major trust issues. It has… devastated them & now they are working extremely, hard to rebuild their life with a wonderful therapist & psychiatrist. My advice, do your research on Dr. Harbison!!!

great doctor and great person.

I have been a patient of hers for 2 years and have always found her to be kind, caring and supportive. The other post from the patient that was upset due to not getting sleeping meds is very shortsighted. Any patient seeking out a specific med should be suspect by any good doctor. I'm sure the anti-depressant that was prescribed Dr. H knew would also aid in sleep. I think Dr. Harbison was actually looking out for their best interests by prescribing the CORRECT med! I would highly reccommed Dr. H. anytime!!!

She is off the cuff and honost in her approach. We needed maritial counseling because of a step child's behavior...tough stuff. She brought the real issues to the table and some tactics to help solve the issues.

I first encountered Dr.Harbison while experiencing an acute episode of depression due to a loss of a significant relationship- I could not sleep and felt I was spiraling out of control- I was not able to make an immediate appointment nor was there any follow up after the initial appt. for aprox. 3 weeks. I was in distress- needing help _and experienced both condesencion and anger from this M.D. when I asked for meds to help me sleep.I was eventually prescribed a medication for depression for which I was given no information about side effects or withdrawal symptoms- I learned the hard way-
