Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I chose to become a Family Nurse Practitioner because I have a passion for preventative healthcare and love caring for people. I have cared for all ages and have been a nurse for over 9 years at York Hospital, but have worked in healthcare for 18 years. I believe in holistic care, treating the whole patient, physically, mentally and emotionally.What I want my patients to know about me:I care about my patients and enjoy learning about them as individuals. People have many needs in medicine and what works for one person, might not necessarily work for someone else. I want to provide my patients with the best individual care and the resources they need for their health. I will advocate for my patients and listen to their needs.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I love spending time with my husband and two sons. My extra curricular activities include running my boys from one activity to the next, walking our Lagotta and exercising. We are …an active family. I love watching my sons succeed in all their talents. I also enjoy coffee and spending time outdoors.
