Dr. Diana Renee Pugh, MD

I saw this Dr. several time due to her positive reviews. Initially, I was pleased, but began noticing problems with billing and overall professionalism of the her and the entire office. It became a strange experience. I think her relationship with me became personal. My experience was that she likes personal relationships with her patients. I felt like everything was fine as long as I agreed with her. I don’t mean agreeing with her professional opinion, it was agreeing with her personal opinions and values. I never had a disagreement with her, but think it’s so important to her to be liked and feel special, she loses ability to be professional. I don’t dislike her, but felt like her treatment changed if I questioned anything and didn’t treat her special. I like Dr’s who are friendly, but also professional, objective, and there are many out The Who are capable of both. When I want to see a psychiatrist, I don’t want to feel like I’m there to meet their needs.

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Pugh for about 3 years now and she came highly recommended. However, since seeing her, my daughter has had 1 psychotic break and just told me her life wasn't worth living and that I'm the only person she has. It has taken 3 years for my daughter to agree to take her meds on a regular basis and Dr. Pugh wasn't responsible for that. Watching her roommate become suicidal is what changed my daughter's mind. When I told her that I wanted to move away and but felt I couldn't because the last time I talked about it, my daughter had a breakdown from panic, she just said "Well, she may have to have another one." How callous. Is that what my daughter's illness means to her? I don't think Dr. Pugh is compassionate or competent. I think she's wonderful to those she can easily treat, but when her decisions are questioned, or you tell her she doesn't understand, she becomes offended. I recommend her to no one & consider her the biggest mistake I've ever made on… behalf of my daughter.
