Was looking to possibly get established with this practice. As I've learned in the area some providers are better than others. I made my appointment and did the online information. I did see they wanted me to agree that I must have credit card on file. To which while initialing consent to all other policies on this I wrote "no" in the box because leaving blank would not let me finish the online form. Go to the appointment today and give the receptionist my license and insurance card. When she asked for the credit card. I explained that I'll pay copay as I'm here to see about getting established if I'm comfortable and like the provider I will be more than glad to do so on my way out. She said that's now how it works either that or $250 down upfront. I have the right to to see if like the provider before going full pledge and having my banking information kept on file. If this was to be only appointment I paid my copay on the way in. Further reason for hesitation is… being in medical billy for 20 years I know insurances can make mistakes as well as a billing department. I have the right to protect what could have possibly been a one time appointment from having a surprise bill being charged to my card.
