Dr. Diane Renee Abraczinskas, MD

A doctor who knows her field inside and out and gets right to the issues. Could not have been in better hands

I saw Dr. Abrazinskas as my first MGH GI doctor. I went in for my appointment and voiced my concern that I thought I had celiac disease, discussed my symptoms, and my family history (both my mother and aunt were diagnosed with celiac disease). She was extremely dismissive the entire appointment. I mentioned that I often eat very clean but when I eat foods like pizza or pasta I have a lot of symptoms. She finally looked at me with raised eyebrows and said, “don’t you think you could be having issues from the grease on the pizza, and not the pizza?” She finally agreed to order a blood test because I advocated for it for myself. Surprise, surprise, it was positive. When I finally went in for my endoscopy, my diagnosis was confirmed with the biopsy (Marsh 3b so moderate). I got a letter from her on the portal and a call from a nurse. No other contact for a newly diagnosed patient with a completely new diet. Luckily I consider myself an educated patient as I work in healthcare, but this is… worrisome for others. I promptly switched doctors.

Dr Abraczinskas is surely one of the best. A very knowledgeable and intelligent doctor who also cares about her patients and will and does take the time to go through information go over situations and answer questions and concerns. Whether complex or not medically you are in good hands with her as your GI doctor.

I went to see Dr. Abraczinskas because I'd heard she was so good in her field. I have been trying to find out if I'm not Celiac, what else could be wrong; since i have dayslinebackers tha i lose being in bed sick, tired, and intestinal issues.Dr Abraczinkas seemed to not really be interested in my case and asked me since going Gluten Free how much better were my symptons. When i told her maybe 75%, she said 'well, isn't 75% good enough?'I will not be going back, nor would I recommend her. She had no sense of caring for what i was going thru, nor did seem to want to want to help solve the problem. I have gotten recommendations to go elsewhere.
