Dr. Diane Hweelan Mak, MD

Dr. Mak is my kind of medical doctor. As an elderly person whose doctor retired, I asked a friend to recommend a good internist and Dr. Mak accepted me. Office visits have been thorough and felt personal and not rushed. Doctor answers my questions and clarified my condition and treatment in office visits and through the Patient Portal of S C. I am most grateful for her medical expertise.

I’m surprised by the negative comments. Dr. Aw listened to me, and immediately was concerned and ran the necessary tests. I couldn’t be more thankful.

After losing my physician of over 20 years it took me quite some time to find Dr. Aw. Fortunately, after trying some doctors at another healthcare facility I took a look at Springfield Clinic and fortunately, for me, Dr. Aw was taking new patients. I am surprised by some of the other comments on this page because my experience has been very positive overall. I find Dr. Aw to be professional. thoughtful, thorough and most of all flexible. By flexible I mean she is willing to listen and to negotiate care when it comes to such things as drug regimens, etc. She works with the data she has and she tries to compromise when she can. We have been forging what I would call a "working relationship" so that I feel I am heard and I am also trying to take her input into consideration when making a decision to agree with a course of treatment or not. All in all, I am very satisfied with her medical expertise and would most certainly endorse her to others who may be either looking for a doctor or… shopping around for a new one.

I thought Dr. Aw was great. She spent a great deal of time with me and my concerns. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Aw has appeared disinterested and indifferent to my concerns and situation. She lacks empathy and compassion for her patience. I can forgive a less than steller bedside manner, if the MD is at least thorough with my care. Dr. Aw, however, seems only concerned with giving the bare minimum. Recently, I went for a wellness exam and all she did was take my blood and give me a shot. It was not complete physical exam by any stretch. All patience’s deserve much better care. Dr. Aw should take a sabbatical and find her passion, because medicine and working with the public is not it. If you looking for an MD, choose someone else.

I have been a patient for several years. I have seen her twice, but that was quite a while ago. Getting to see her can take over a year and she tends to push everything off on the nurse practitioner. I haven't seen her in well over a year though I have tried. The staff doesn't always set up appointments right and you often don't find this out until you wait for months and then show up and feel stupid because there was no actual appointment set. Stunning lack of professionalism and when you do see her, she tries to get you out as fast as possible so she can move on to a new patient. I have never had a positive experience with her
