Dr. Diane P Barrett, MD

I just recently became a patient here at this practice. I saw Dr. Barrett for an initial visit about some ongoing problems I've been having. She was recommended to me by my friend because Dr. Barrett delivered her son and had a great experience. And boy am I glad I did. Dr. Barrett was so kind and understanding. She went through all of the different factors that could be causing my problem and came up with a plan to help me! I felt really great after being listened to so attentively. I did have some results that I was waiting on because Dr. Barrett was in her other location the day they came in. But luckily the front office staff had Dr. Speyer look at them so I could go into my weekend with a clear conscious. Overall I'm very happy I found this practice and I look forward to seeing them for a long time.

Dr. Barrett and her entire staff are the most incredibly knowledgeable and professional I've ever come into contact with. I was referred to Dr. Barrett by my primary care physician and from the moment I met her, I felt completely taken care of. She's got a great bedside manner and at the same time, you're clear she knows exactly what she's talking about. I also like that she was a fan of acupuncture and alternative therapies in conjunction with her western medicine approach. When the time came for me to have surgery (which she performed) it went without a hitch! The follow-up and care from her and her staff (thank you Kylie and Seth) throughout the process was beyond exceptional. I HIGHLY recommend you choose Dr. Barrett as your doctor (she'll be mine for life).

Dr. Barrett has been my gynecologist for roughly 3 years now and I've had only positive experiences with her. The office staff is a completely different story. They are rude and honestly don't care about any of the patients. Example - I called to have my prescription called into my pharmacy. They said they would take care of it by the end of the day. They close at 5 and I called the pharmacy at 6 and guess what, someone definitely didn't do their job and call in my prescription so now I will have to call the office and deal with those idiots again and maybe this time they will call in my prescription.

Both her and Dr Speyer are great doctors, great bed side matter and great staff.

I had moved out of state and that's the only reason she delivered only two of my three high risk babies. She is an excellent doctor all around, whoever disagrees sadly did not get to know her.

When I first went in to meet with Dr. Barrett, it was a last minute appointment. My husband and I had taken a positive HPT that morning, and Dr. Barrett was the only doctor available that afternoon. Six weeks later, we came back for our first ultrasound and chose to again schedule with Dr. Barrett. Unfortunately, our baby had stopped growing. Not only did Dr. Barrett have to tell us about the miscarriage, but she also had to give us several options. When we decided to have a D&C performed, she scheduled us for 2 days later--on her lunch break.Dr. Barrett did an excellent job with my procedure. Sorry to be graphic, but most women bleed for 10-14 days; I bled for only one. At our follow-up, she told us I'd healed well and she hoped to see us before the summer (with a new pregnancy). As she left the room, I stopped her to thank her for all she'd done. She put her hand on my arm and explained that she was so sorry for what I'd been through.Dr. Barrett isn't warm and fuzzy--but I don't want… my doctor to be that. If she was all sunshine and roses, I wouldn't trust her when she says she has no worries for our future pregnancies. Instead, she is an incredibly competent, very logical, exceedingly trustworthy woman. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Both my husband and I feel very strongly that Dr. Barrett is exceptional. She doesn't sugar coat things, she takes a very clinical approach and will answer any question you have in full detail. If you have concerns, she takes the time to address them. I will say this - if you are looking for someone with a soft bedside manner that will make you simply feel better regardless of your situation - Dr. Barrett is not for you. For instance, I had gained too much weight at one point in my pregnancy - instead of saying that every woman is different and making me feel that this is ok, she detailed the issue and strongly suggested I start tracking what I eat, in a profession and kind manner. She is an excellent doctor.

Simply put, Dr. Barrett is great. As a new patient, she sat down with me in her office first and we talked about my concerns for a few minutes. She answered all of my questions and clearly knew very well what she was talking about. Then I went into the exam room for the exam where she displayed excellent bedside manner. This was was a refreshing change of pace for me as I've had doctors who were rough, who dismiss your concerns, or who have been rude and blunt about sensitive issues. Dr. Barrett was none of that. She was kind, yet confident in her knowledge. The only bad thing I could say about my experience was the young lady at the check-in desk. Listening to her answer phones, I could hear her getting short with people. She seems to hate her job. But Dr. Barrett is really fantastic. And the nurse was also quite sweet. I would absolutely reommend this doctor.

I had Dr Barett as my OBGYN for my first delivery. Over the course of my pregnancy I felt that she didnt give enough time to discuss or address my problems but I always gave her the benefit of doubt thinking that their practive is very busy. But I was in for a very rude shock when I went into labor. We called up the doctor well in advance about the contractions and were told to reach the hospital while Dr Barett was on her way. We reached the hospital and Dr Barett never showed up...not through the entire delivery that happened the next day (it was a weekday and she wasnt on leave). She did not even show up for the entire duration of our stay at the hospital post delivery. I havent seen such poor doctor manners in the past and would ask everyone to avoid such an experience.
