Summary
I am a pediatric hospitalist, which means that instead of seeing patients in a clinic, I am a pediatrician who specializes in caring for the hospitalized baby, child, or teen. I have been a pediatric hospitalist since I finished my training in 1995. I love what I do and I feel privileged to serve children and their families in the hospital.
I worked at John Muir hospital in the east bay for almost 12 years before coming to Kaiser Permanente in 2007. My husband, a privately practicing pediatrician for years, joined Kaiser Permanente about 8 months before I did. He was so impressed with the excellence of care provided by Kaiser Permanente and the ease of not having to fight insurance companies anymore, that I soon followed, and I feel extremely fortunate to have had this opportunity.
My first goal is to provide excellent care for your child. As part of Kaiser Permanente, I am fortunate to work with an amazing group of pediatricians, and I have access to a full array of pediatric …subspecialists should I ever need them. We truly are a team in providing care.
My other priority is to keep you informed about your child's health and the care we are providing, so that you are comfortable with what is going on. I know this can be a stressful time for you and your family. You are an invaluable part of the health care team, and I always aim to be respectful of your needs.
My most important job at home is taking care of my children. I am honored to be helping you take care of your child.
I knew I wanted to be a doctor even before high school. I've always wanted to help people. When it came to deciding what kind of doctor, it was easy because I have always loved kids, and I am inspired all the time by how they can spread joy even when they're not feeling great.
Pediatric cardiology has always been of interest to me. I did a year of training in it after I finished my pediatric training.
I enjoy teaching. I am an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California Medical School at San Francisco. I help train medical students from Touro College and residents from the Sutter Family Practice Program.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews
Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.
Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.
Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
