Dr. Diane Hillard-Sembell, MD

Dr. Diane Hillard-Sembell is an amazing Dr. she’s always polite and courteous. She did my knee surgery and 2 years later I’ve had no problems!

This was my pre-surgery meeting with Dr. Hillard-Sembel. She answered my questions and went into detail about how the surgical procedure would go. I have the utmost confidence in her. She has done knee replacements for some of my friends, and I feel lucky to have her as my surgeon. The thing I like best about her is her friendly and confident demeanor. I would highly recommend her.

Thorough, very kind & patient. Worked me in even though she had a funeral to attend. I trust her recommendations for my current situation.

I saw her for a complete rupture of ACL and MCL. We did surgery 07/07/17 and She repaired my ACL and said my MCL would heal on its own. It was in October when my physical therapist and I were very concerned about how we aren't getting any progress. I was still having a lot of shifting and pain. I called her office twice and all she said was give it more time.. physical therapist wanted me to get another opinion. I went to see another surgeon and got another MRI. MRI showed MCL still ruptured and the ACL was not reconstructed properly. It is 11/01/17 and Im scheduled for a new surgery 11/10/17 to redo my ACL and repair my MCL. I obviously am very upset as I have been dealing with this since the injury in May. I have been going to Physical therapy twice a week since June. I guess we will go ahead and start over. Im very disappointed.

Dr. Hillard-Sembell has been my orthopedic physician since 1994. She has provided excellent care for me in the four surgeries that I have undergone with her, one of which was a total knee replacement, as well as for my wife, who also underwent a total knee replacement. She is a caring , compassionate and dedicated doctor who is truly concerned about the wellbeing of her patients.

She was pleasant, kind, and informative before surgery. After, she was dismissive of my complaints and offered very little help. I had to get my issues resolved by another doctor, which I eventually did. Healing time was about a year longer than she originally stated. She almost made surgery sound like going to a party. Afterward, the party was over and difficult for over a year. Had she been more supportive and offered more than just, "it'll go away", I would have recovered faster. If you do have surgery with her, as for TENS afterward, it was never offered and gave me the best healing response from another doctor.
