Dr. Diane L. Kennedy, MD

i had kennedy for a personal doctor for approximately 15 years. I had trusted her, I had even liked her. I came to her with a long term condition that I knew needed surgery for eventually, but I didn't know when. When I started meeting with her, I asked about it and she said that she would never tell you when it was time for surgery. (It's amazing what you recall after you finally put 2 and 2 together) She did say it was not a good idea to wait too long. i didn't know for sure what she meant by that, but figured I would decide later about it. The two doctors I had that dealt with it before were quite vocal about not being time to do deal with it. The second doctor actually yelled the entire visit I had with him. His final line as to why I couldn't do what I wanted was the exactly same line kennedy used at the end of every exam. He just yelled it at the top of his lungs. I knew from years of experience when I gave her my list of symptoms, and she would examine me, she would… say that line, and she was done. Her lips were tighter than a drum. She stared at the wall, stared at the floor, stare back at me with one of here intimidating looks, and she'd ask about any other questions I might have had. I wasn't done talking about the last subject, but I knew she was done. She seemed willing to talk about anything else I asked here about, but not my surgery. I didn't understand, but i knew she wasn't willing to talk about it. I thought everyone had to wait for surgery as long as i did. When the nurse came in to start each visit, she was told that i wondered if it was time for surgery yet. kennedy knew what I was after, she knew I didn't get it, she knew i was heading for medical suicide, but her game was more important than my health. She even had interns on some visits. While it's always awkward to have someone else in the room when you are talking about embarassing information, I figured i was helping future generations of doctors. In reality now, i feel like i was just her freak show. When she finally said it was time for surgery, she surprised me. I was expecting some hint that it was close to time, even if she would have been willing to talk about it would have been nice. i actually turned it down after asking if it could wait. My son was graduating from high school in a few weeks, there was a vacation, and a host of other obligations that summer. i worked in the school system so if i didn't get a 'project' like that done in the summer, I didn't get it done. When i asked if it could wait, she tried(unsuccessfully) to hide here laugh, but said "sure". I have often thought of a more appropriate response from her, but that would have spoiled the fun. When i came in for the next visit, I said it was time for surgery, and she mocked and laughed at me in front of the intern, but I didn't get the humor at the time. Well, the surgeons were making sarcastic remarks about me in surgery(and I'm assuming laughing). i didn't think anything about my condition. I knew I was bad, kennedy knew i had been bad for years. She wouldn't even talk about it. I thought everyone was that bad before they were allowed to do surgery. Well, I ended up not having a good surgery. I had nerve damage that i am still recovering from and surgery was almost 3 years ago. If you have something that requires a procedure or surgery done, she will not, WILL NOT tell you when it is time, she would not even talk about it with me. She most likely will not be willing to talk about it unless you ask the right questions. i apparently did not ask the right questions. No, i would not recommend this doctor to anyone. I have never been so humiliated or in so much pain.
