Dr. Diego Alberto Hernandez, MD

I met Dr. Hernandez at a postural orthostic tachycardia syndrome walk fundraiser, where he took time to talk with me about how he has found he can help patients with this diagnosis. I then made an appointment as he recommended, and they also scheduled my ultrasound the same day since I had a dysautonomia diagnosis already. I then proceeded with the procedures to fix iliac vein compression. This doctor and staff are great. I have seen over 50 medical professionals over 19 yrs, and the doctor really listens, takes as much time as I need to answer all my questions, and seems to care. The staff is warm and friendly and quickly responsive. Highly recommend this office if you need a vascular surgeon.

Dr. Hernandez is an excellent vascular surgeon.. I have had several different procedures and I can not speak highly of the professionalism and care that I have received from his office... I have always been greeted with respect from him and his office staff. I have recommended Dr. Hernandez to several of my friends... and they are extremely happy as well.

I saw Dr. Hernandez regarding a concern for a blood clot in my leg following an extended overseas trip. The office staff got me in to the office the same day I called and I was able to have an ultrasound of my veins performed at the same visit. The ultrasound tech and the entire staff were friendly and caring. Dr. Hernandez was extremely thorough and he explained everything completely. I would highly recommend Dr. Hernandez.

I wanted to share my story. I went in for achy varicose veins and they discovered I had illiac vein compression. They assured me it was an easy procedure. The told me the procedure went great and to rest up at home. the next day when I developed a blood clot. The Stent shifted up about a half inch and My tendon in my groin and the stent formed like a complete tourniquet on my vein. Dr. Hernandez told me he placed the stent, and didn’t wait long enough before he finished the procedure, so the stent shifted. So I had to go back in for an emergency procedure where they broke up the clot, and placed more stents. (which was so incredibly painful and very expensive). After that procedure I got violently sick. I was throwing up and hiccuping constantly. I couldn’t sit up because I kept feeling like I was going to pass out- however it was past closing time- and once I was able to eat a saltine the nurses assured me I would be ok. So I was sent home. Later that night I was rushed to the… hospital with pancreatitis. and liver damage. Now you should know a few things about me. I’m in my 20s. I don’t drink at all, I don’t smoke or do drugs. Nothing that would be a preexisting factor for pancreatitis. Later I found out that If the contrast dye used in the procedure for breaking up blood clots isn’t properly flushed out of someone’s system their organs can go into shock. Every time I went to the office everyone was so nice and kind, which made it hard to see how incompetent they were. They explained things to me as if it was some freak accident (Dr. Hernandez’s exact words regarding my pancreatitis.) I feel so used, and I honestly have a case for malpractice or neglect but I’m so tired of the whole ordeal and I had to spend so much money. Now to top it all off. I find out that the billing department held back a portion of my total balance (most likely because I had reached my deductible last year) One year since my first procedure I got charged another $1000. I called to ask why and she simply told me she held it back no other explanation, and since it was past 180 days since the procedure my insurance couldn’t dispute the charge. I regret going to Dr. Hernandez’s office more than anything. He severely messed up my life.

Dr. Hernandez is a very caring dr. Unlike others I have been too. He new exactly what was wrong with me. I have had severe pain in my back and legs for yrs. he knew it was a vein barely open , he put stents in , painless procedure, and I am now walking the pain is gone. Don't think twice if you are having trouble run don't walk to Dr. Hernandez. He really cares about you. His staff is out of this world with care also.

Dr Herandez repaired my restricted Carotid Artery, I had no pain after surgery ,a great recovery time and how do you say enought thank you,s for someone saving my life and before I had a stroke ,it,s been over a year ago and great checkups and no problems thanks to a man with an excellant skill and a caring attitude.
