Dr. Dilip Vallabhbhai Patel, MD

Stay far, far away from this incredibly pompous and inept doctor. He kept insisting I had leukemia, and I kept insisting that I was healthy. I even told him that I had climbed a mountain the prior week!! He even told me he had scheduled me for a spinal bone marrow biopsy the next morning at 8am. Then he reran the blood work and he seemed disappointed, said "You're fine" and walked out of the room. No sorry, no nothing

I've been a patient with Dr. Patel for 20 years now. He has very good bedside manner and is extremely caring. During my high risk pregnancy, he kept such close tabs on my blood work, he was able to catch problems my OBGYN missed preventing what could have been many severe complications.

Excellent, compassionate doctor. Made a prompt accurate diagnosis, prescribed the proper course of treatment, and 15+ years later, still fine. Couldn't be in better hands.

If you learn that you have cancer you should first go to Dr. Patel before seeing a surgeon. He takes the time and will send you for any tests that are necessary. He seems thorough and I am comfortable in my decision to follow his treatemnt. He was referred to me by nurses in the LIJ system who said that he was the 'go to man' for hospital people that have such issues.
