Dr. Dina Marie Canavero, MD

Dina delivered three of my kids, singleton and twins. She was more than I could ask for. She was educated, calm, informative and let me know where I stood and what my choices were and then let me make the choices. I trusted her completely and she knew my desires and helped me align my births within safe parameters. My twins are now 4 yrs old and she comes up in conversations with other women and pregnancy stories and I realize how truly blessed I was to have her as my OB twice!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Canavero’s for more than 19 years. I started going to her because I had multiple miscarriages and was extremely neurotic about keeping the next pregnancy viable. I cannot tell you how patient she was with me and my husband during this time. I actually credit her with helping us to have our second daughter. Since that time I’ve had a few issues that she has expertly handled and cured. I always recommend her to friends and family when they are looking for a new OB/GYN.

I was a patient of Dr. Canavero and she was incredible rude! I was sick when pregnant with my 1st child and she completely ignored my questions. She had no manners. I am surprised how she can be a doctor and behave this way!

If you want to sue a doctor she the one. Worse person ever

My wife and baby almost died under her watch. She had undiagnosed preeclampsia that almost cost both of them there lives. She told her to suck it up and didn’t put her on leave and made her go to work. That’s was 3 days before we ended up in the hospital for a emergency c section at 35 weeks. I don’t know how she missed all the signs. Other then she just doesn’t care. We even thought she had preeclampsia and she said no you don’t. Suck it up. Your just pregnant. Worse doctor ever. She should be fired and her license pulled. She horrible.

I had a c section 4 years ago in 2011. It was am emergency c section. She let me labor for 12 hours even though my dr and I came up with 6 hours due to my size and assumed baby size. I'm just under 4'10" and normal weight of 95-100lbs. Well at delibery I was so swollen with water weight I was 154lbs. By the time they took me back for survey, the only things I remember was hearing the anesthesiologist holding a mask over me saying "we're losing her get mom closed up, give the baby to dad and get him out" well I'm about to have my 2nd baby and needless to say have had anxiety every day since I found out because of my experience. I ordered my pre op report, h&p, prog notes. No where does it show any of the complications. I'm 3 weeks or less away from having my baby and this time will be going to Uc Davis thank goodness. I will be contacting the dr and the hospital to which this was preformed to let them know. How can I be sure that this won't happen again without accurate information. So… my new dr, surgeon and anesthesiologist have to go off my word and what I am able to provide to them. Doesn't let one or her husband rest easy with what was a week long nightmare after having our baby. I wasn't not even with it for 2 days after I had the baby. It's pretty sad that All I remember from my daughters birth was all bad. I would be extra careful and as much pain as you may be in try to listen to every word so that you don't miss anything with this Dr.

Dina Canavero is a horrible Obgyn..she told me to do something and I did it then she dropped me from the practice with 3 weeks to due date.

Ugh i wish she could have delivered my baby. But things happen. But she always answered my questions with honestly, comedy, and a smile. She was gentle and so nice. Although the wait was always so long it was worth it. She gave off a motherly feel which made me feel very comfortable. Very lucky to find her with my luck from previous obgyn's.

Although the office staff was friendly I found Dr. Canavero to be quite aloof. I try to give the benefit of the doubt simply because anyone can have a bad day but my experiences with Dr. canavero were enough for me to seek a different Dr. She came highly recommneded and although she was personable, I found her to be uninterested in my questions relating to an ovarian tumor that had been diagnosed by the person that referred me to her. She felt that it was a non-issue when in fact, I began to hemmorhage a week after my visit with her and ended up having an emergency procedure leaving me deficit one ovary. She may be a very good "baby' Dr. but in terms of treating for other issues...not so much.

I really liked Dr. Canavero. She was so nice and funny it made my pregnancy experience just great. I never questioned her ability to care for me or her judgement. I've had 2 other OB's in my lifetime- but I like her the best! Highly recommend.
