Dr. Dina Y Gewaily, MD

During a recent holiday weekend, I was referred to Lancaster Retinal Specialists on an emergency basis (possible retinal tear/detachment). Dr Dina Gewaily was on call that day (Sunday). We spoke on the phone; she was helpful, kind and professional. She offered to see me in the office that evening at 7pm. My husband and I drove to Lancaster.....about 60 miles from our home. Needless to say, I was quite frightened, not only for my eyesight, but for risking exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Gewaily was welcoming, professional and very mindful of CDC safety protocols. She did an extensive and thorough eye examination, explaining everything along the way. I was relieved to hear I did not have a retinal tear/detachment (I did have a vitreous detachment, which explained my symptoms). Throughout my extended appointment, Dr. Gewaily provided ample opportunity for questions, giving no indication of time constraints. My husband (a retired physician) and I felt grateful for her… professional expertise and calm demeanor. I will gladly see her again for my follow-up visit(s).....she's worth the travel time! In conclusion, if a retina specialist is what you need, I would highly recommend Dr. Dina Gewaily.
