Dr. Dina Hanna Mishu, MD

Absolutely unreal. My son was born at 35 weeks. My other boy had seizures following mmr and I’m just not comfortable giving a preemie hep b with our hx. Doctor mishu saw him in the hospital because of her circumcision technique. The other nurses on the unit referred me to her. I was supposed to follow up with her a few days after discharge to where she told me she will not see him unless I tell her I’ll give him the hep b vaccine in 2 months. What does that have to do with him today? He was not feeding well. Looked yellow. His temp was low. But she would not see him. Doctors have an oath to do no harm. Rather than seeing him today and educating me and learning about our history she refused to see him and told me to take him to the ER which is an extra 30 minutes away. This was a power move and a very unfortunate stance she took. She never asked about our family history. Never educated me on the pros of hep b or how what happened to our other Boy may have just been isolated. Just… gave me an ultimatum over a future date in 2 months. So because he was refused care by her I had to take him for his follow up appointment at the ER and risk exposing him to unnecessary sickness. This is nothing short of medical bullying and coercion. I have never felt worse as the mother of the patient. I have seven children. I have never seen a bedside manner like this. She didn’t speak to me. Just had her nurse serve me the ultimatum. When I called back to talk to her before writing any reviews or reporting the incident, their practice hung up on me a dozen times. This is extremely unprofessional and concerning. I have been a nurse for 7 years, I have my masters degree in nursing education, I am a United States veteran and have every vaccine under the sun. but in dealing with dr. Mishu I felt my minority son did not matter and his current health isn’t a priority if I cannot know 6 days after birth, when he should still be in my womb, what is best for him at two months with no guidance from a doctor.

I LOVE DR.MISHU. I moved to Tennessee when I was 9 from Indiana. She has the warmest heart and I love her spirit. She is very honest. If you have anything you want to talk about concerning your health, she will listen and give you a straight answer. She has a passion for children and teenagers. I couldn’t recommend her any higher than excellent.

Dr. Mishu has been my children's pediatrician since they were born. She has been fabulous for my family until this past year. She neglected to give me all of the information and options available to me on labia fusion with my 7 year old daughter, leading to unnecessary amounts of pain as she performed this procedure in office rather then tell me I had the option for general anesthesia. For my son, we had concerns about his mental health and she told me that he was simply just an immature boy who needed discipline...which was not the case.Overall, she's still a wonderful physician, but I know now that I need to press for further information and to stand up for my children.

Best pediatric experience imaginable for a child. Wonderful doctor and person.

Dr. Mishu has been my pediatrician for 16 years and if I could see her as an adult I most certainly would. She is ALWAYS willing to spend as much time as necessary with me. She has an impeccable memory as well. Dr. Mishu always challenges me to not settle for my health as it is, but to always try to be healthier. She is very caring and considerate of her patients and their time as well.

Dr. Mishu has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty in caring for my children. She is obviously highly skilled, but her bedside manner and compassion are even more remarkable.
