I had a cardiac ablation with Dr. Sparano. She was so in command of the procedure, from the explanation to the execution, that she gave me great confidence. And my outcome has been wonderful. Np more fob attacks. She is not the most touchy feely doctor I have ever had, but she is one of the most competent. I would recommend her to anyone suffering from Afib.

I was extremely leery of having an ablation. Dr. Sparano discussed my afib and the choices I had for treatment a number of times. Additionally, she was always available by phone when I had an afib episode. When I was ready for my ablation, she was highly encouraging. She gave me my life back and I highly recommend her.

She has a cold bedside manner and does not take the time to listen to the patient . She made me feel like I didn't matter.

I was admitted to the ER for an electrical storm of multiple ICD firings. Dr. Spirino was the attending electrophysiologist . I was terrified after getting shocked 4 times in a row and had always been admitted in the hospital for observation for previous single shocks. Out of the multiple firings three turned out to be unwarranted shocked due to too low of a heart rate setting . Instead of recalibrating my ICD to a higher setting , she did nothing and had me stay one night even though she claimed it wasn't necessary by protocol . She was cold and seemed uncaring . She sent me home without adjust the setting because she couldn't get a hold of my regular EP Doctor who was out of the country ...... I got shocked again a week later. I'd like to see how she would feel if she got shocked . Her empathy level is low to say the least .

If you are unsure or frightened about having a cardiac ablation procedure, seek out Dr. Dina Sparano and Dr. Joshua Moss at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Sparano thoughtfully explained the procedure's steps and post-procedure recovery measures. She is highly personable, focused cardiology specialist. Her reassuring manner and confidence helped to reduce my very reasonable anxiety. I cannot more strongly endorse the professionalism, personal care and medical procedure excellence that Dr. Sparano provided to me.
