Dr. Dinah Abioro

Dinah Abioro, DDS Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Dr. Dinah Abioro has over 13 years as a healthcare professional and is committed to providing your child with the highest quality dental care in the most comfortable manner possible. Dr. Abioro is a native of Maywood, Illinois. Upon graduating from high school, Dr. Abioro enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve where she served as a Unit Diary Clerk. She began working in the medical field during college as a pharmacy technician. While in college, Dr. Abioro switched military branches and joined the United States Air Force Reserve as a pharmacy technician and later became commissioned as an Officer in the Nurse Corps. Dr. Abioro attended Georgia College & State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with a minor in Psychology. Throughout her nursing career she worked in the field of critical care as a Critical Care Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. The desire to focus on oral …health led her to the field of dentistry. She obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Abioro also completed a Pediatric Dentistry Residency from Howard University. Dr. Abioro's specialized training in pediatrics focuses on the unique requirements of infants, children, adolescents, and those with special health care needs. This additional training allows her to better understand, manage and treat patients experiencing issues such as dental fear, dental anxiety, behavior management issues, high cavity/caries rate, as well as care of the medically and developmentally compromised and disabled patient. Dr. Abioro is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She obtained this recognition by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the only certifying board in the specialty of pediatric dentistry recognized by the American Dental Association. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, International Association of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Southern Maryland Dental Society, and Howard University College of Dentistry Alumni Admissions Committee. During her free time she enjoys gardening, sewing, and spending time with her two dogs Moochie and Skooter.
