Dr. Dinesh Kapur, MD

Kapur is dangerously willing to recommend treatment for types of cancer he has no expertise with, and then became rude when I pointed out that a second opinion from a specialist at an extremely well known cancer institute pointed out that the recommended treatment would do nothing but waste time. The reason Kapur’s recommended treatment could not work was so very obvious from well established published studies and results from my tests that he ordered. The mistake was picked up immediately by the oncologist I now have (second opinion). Kapur was oddly willing to suggest he is a researcher. Nope. No scholarly research profile. I never chose Kapur. He was “assigned” to me when I received a cancer diagnosis while a patient at Backus Hospital. My advice: find another Dr before wasting time with Kapur or anyone else at Eastern CT Hematology snd Oncology Associates.

When a person is diagnosed with some form of cancer they are 1st scared and should be allowed the time to get opinions on what to do. This Doctor spoke to my spouse when directing his answers to my questions as if I was not allowed to form any of my own opinions. I would not ever tell anyone to see this man. In addition, after months of gathering information about my health issue, this Doctor was going to use me as a guinea pig and put drugs into me I never needed 8 years ago and I thank God I never listened to him.

Very competent, caring and professional. Compassoinate and an active listener. Takes time to really try to understand the needs and emotions of the patient.

Called several times to ask about lab results..left several messages..finally recd call from office after 10 days. Very busy office, too many doctors. Not happy with his patient care.

If there is a better doctor out there I would like to meet him. This man, colleagues and his staff saved my life. If it weren't for the care and treatment from them. And for Dr. Kapur's quick thinking I would not be here today. I have Brain Cancer. And after the first surgery I was put on the Terminal list. Now after my second surgery, and having a third tumor inoperable I am no longer on that list.

Dr. Kapur treated both my sister for breast cancer and father for lung cancer. His concern and kindness was without a doubt, exceptional. Both my father and sister went through their ordeal at the same time and provided excellent care for all of us. As a family member being there to support both of them, I'm very grateful Dr. Kapur made it as painless, both emotionally and physically, as possible. Thank you.

My daughter went to dr. kapur last year, she had breast cancer, a radical mysectomy, lympdema, she is 32 yrs old, she had chemo, i was with her every step of the way, and dr. kapur was the most uncaring dr. i had ever met, the place was nice clean and every one except dr kapur and one other nurse there were wonderful.he was very rude to me and to my daughter, i guess going thru cancer and losing your breast and hair and having triple negative recepters, not knowing if your going to live, having chemo, is not enough to take, that my daughter was crying and in pain and somtimes cranky wasnt enough for him,i can go on and on, but iam saving that for an attorney and the medical board, i just want every one toknow what kind of person he really is.
