Dr. Ding Martin Ma, MD

I have been having problems with my right eye for about two weeks… Due to a very stubborn stye that has caused me a lot of pain and blurriness… I got home from work and I thought I was using my preservative free refresh tears as I have not put anything in my eye other than that right now instead I accidentally used prescription drops … And it says right on it if you accidentally put more than one dose in an eye it is considered an emergency and you should call poison control or a medical professional. So I called on the emergency line of my doctors office, which is Hudson Valley eye, surgeon, and asked the operator to get back to me with whoever the doctor on call would be that could help me… Because if it was a medical emergency, I would want to know right away so I could get to the hospital… Since I used the whole vial eyes… It actually emptied like three doses in each eye… When Dr. Ma called me back he was so rude and condescending that he would not even let me finish my sentence.… He has been a Dr I had seen from time to time there and until then I never had any problems with him. I had thought well of him… That is until tonight when he belittled me and was almost yelling at me saying this is not a medical emergency. This is not a medical emergency. I just wanted to get my question asked again. I had put this in the eye as well that I’ve been having the problems with… This is not how you treat a patient and this is not how you treat a human being. I am really upset… my eye is still burning both of them so terribly so I hope he gave the right advice. Otherwise this will be a big problem because he totally blew me off and just kept saying this is not a medical emergency… Let the patient ask the question… I am not a doctor nor do I pretend to be a doctor that’s why I thought I am with a group of excellent doctors that you could call if you are having a problem… I will not be treated like that by anyone… This is unacceptable
