Our experience with Dr. Smith was deeply disappointing and has had long-term repercussions on my child’s well-being. As a parent, I came to the appointment with genuine concerns about my child’s health and development. However, Dr. Smith dismissed my input outright, showing a clear bias against me as a parent and disregarding my observations about my child’s struggles. This dismissive attitude led to critical needs being overlooked, and my child has since faced significant challenges in daily life that could have been mitigated with proper care and attention. Rather than approaching the situation with professionalism and compassion, Dr. Smith allowed personal biases to influence her judgment, leaving us without the support and solutions we needed. Healthcare providers have a responsibility to listen to parents, as they know their children best. The lack of acknowledgment and action in this case has left our family feeling unheard and unsupported. I hope Dr. Smith reflects on the… importance of unbiased, patient-centered care to ensure that no other family experiences the same hardship.

Dr. Smith gave a misdiagnosis of my child and stated to another professional that she had no evidence of the diagnosis but wanted to diagnose anyways. This has made for a long and hard road for many years for my child due to this misdiagnosis. Her lack of knowledge and lack of understanding of my child and culture made this even more difficult.
