Dr. Doan Y Dao, MD

I recently had a sigmoidoscopy at Johns Hopkins with Dr. Dao. He arrived late and was unprepared and unprofessional. He had not thoroughly read my records and was unfamiliar with my medical history. Thus, he was unaware that the procedure was intended to track progression/healing of my condition. He referenced a colonoscopy that I had several years ago which had nothing to do with my current condition, and failed to read my most recent colonoscopy which was just a few months prior. Instead of reading my records, he then proceeded to ask me what the doctors found and how serious it was. This was distressing to say the least. The nurses standing nearby attested that they heard the conversation. I filed a complaint with Johns Hopkins, after which I received a rather gaslighting letter from Dr. Dao with zero acknowledgment of his actions. A simple apology for having come unprepared would have sufficed. My experience left with zero confidence in my treatment. Hands down, a terrible… experience all around. Avoid this doctor at all costs.
