Dr. Dodji Victor Modjinou, MD

After many years of treatments by rheumatologists, pain specialists, physiatrists, rehab and therapy, I continued to live in pain every single day. Then I found Dr Modjinou whose expertise led me to be pain free. I could not believe that a pain free existence was possible for me! He’s not just a very good doctor but also a very compassionate, caring person. I could not understand the negative reviews here but my experience with him has been all positive. He also has the best bedside manner. I recommend him to everyone I know!

I wanted to share an additional experience that highlights one of the more subtle aspects of being a great doctor. My wife started her injectable Methaltrexate treatments and quickly developed uveitis. She never had uveitis before and it seemed to get worse after taking a shot. Now this is a tricky situation that separates Doctors from all other intelligent professionals. Doctors specialize in interpreting a vast amount of science/data. The science/data says Methaltrexate can be used to treat Uveitis but never causes it. It would have been all too easy to tell us the two were unrelated and we should keep up the injections. But what happens then? It is difficult to keep taking a medicine you feel is aggravating an illness you never had until you started taking the medicine. Maybe the internal conflict causes the patient to lose faith in the entire process and the patient leaves treatment for a depressing life of ever worsening health without hope. This is why it takes more… than intelligence to be a Doctor. It is a profoundly dignified thing to set aside one’s vast knowledge in order to see through the eyes of someone who has less. Dr Modjinou chose a different course of action. He contemplated the problem for awhile before saying, “we never say never in medicine” and switched her medication. The 10 extra minutes he spent with us answering questions, explaining labs, and providing other context gave us confidence the problem would eventually get resolved even as it continued to get worse. He even recommended two Ophthalmologists we should see instead of our current Optometrist because we did not know the difference and the Optometrist never made the suggestion. Dr. Modjinou is that particular type of healthcare professional that strives to see things through to completion instead of simply passing someone along. He not only told us to escalate the problem to a higher level but told us who we should see (he has his own ecosystem of medical professionals he trusts...an ecosystem we will definitely stay inside of from now on). Now the Uveitis is finally getting cured and the RA treatment is far exceeding expectations. My wife’s health is better than it has ever been in the 20+ years I have known her. She is entering an amazing and blissful new chapter of her life at 56! We owe it all to Dr. Modjinou and are beyond grateful to be his patients.

Dr. Modjinou is an amazing doctor with a profound respect for the medical field. He maintains a laser like focus on his specialty (will not even speculate about a health issue outside his field) and continually backs up his statements with the latest research or guidance from his field. He does a physical exam, which I have not seen in years, and is observant of even the most minute details such as posture. This is a doctor who is as brilliant as he is caring. He does not rush you through the visit, explains everything, and is open to questions afterward. I cannot comprehend the previous 1 star reviews because they state the exact opposite of the doctors treatment and nature. My wife was a non compliant patient who did not go back to him for more than a year and he was just as kind, thorough, and patient as he was during the first visit (which may be why he is the doctor and we are the patients). Really an amazing healthcare professional and great human being.

Dr Modjinou is absolutely one of the best Doctors in Las Vegas. He genuinely cares about his patients and has a really great bedside manner. Not only that, he listens to everything you have to say and addresses whatever issues presented to him. His recommendations and treatment protocol has brought my pain down significantly. He also never rushes through your appointment.

Dr. Modjinou is so great, he is very intelligent but also makes you feel like you are talking to a friend. He cares about you and it shows. I live 2 hours away and when I go see him, it is self pay because my insurance wont pay because he is out of network but I dont care he is worth it to me. I give him 5 stars

I am so happy with this Dr. he was so down to earth I felt like I was taking with a friend. He truly cared about me and my arthritis. He is very intelligent and a great Dr. thank you Dr. Monjindou
