Dr. Doherty B. Gilchrist, MD

The worst MD ever. Never introduced herself, washed her hands, barely looked up from her computer. I recently found out I have a torn meniscus. I came to see this "Doctor" in September, three months prior to my diagnosis. I was in a great deal of pain and had significant swelling in my right knee. The "doctor" noted in her charting that I limped in to the office but when I was walking to my car my limping "resolved" pretty much saying I was lying about my knee pain and making me out to be some "med seeking lunatic" This is in my permanent medical record and it's not the only lie I found. How can providers get away with this? Unbelievable. I would NOT recommend her for anything other than retirement!

There should be a ZERO rating. Did not listen to my 78 YO almost deaf mom (her ongoing patient) or myself. Assumed medical issues without asking or listening. Would NOT answer questions, explain anything, rolled her eyes, put her patient down, was rude and dismissive. And she knew it. Prescribed meds and treatment that we didn't even go over and was elusive about any questions I asked. Sat me down, grabbed my hand and told me I am enough multiple times. Where she got the idea that I thought that is beyond me. I have never been treated so horribly, or been so disrespected by a doctor, and I use that term VERY loosely. I am a very calm and understanding person. It takes a lot to get me angry, and she tested the very core of me. She CLEARLY had no interest in taking care of the patient. Said we could find another doctor, she's been around forever, and she is still here! I am still in shock over the treatment she gave to both myself and my mom. We ARE in the process of finding a new… doctor.

Not only was is one of the worst experiences of my life, The MA was very distracted, didn’t seem to want to be there, she was in a hurry. I had to repeat my self many many times for the same question as she put it in the computer. The Doctort didn’t even introduce herself to me, I had to say hi to her before she even looked at me. She ordered things for things I wasn’t even there for. I’m a new pt, and working as a medical care provider myself I know they the blocks they give are a tad longer, I saw her for maybe, Maybe 8mins if I was lucky. The papers I had to have her to fill out, she said the way I told her was wrong, she did it her way, I turn it in and it was wrong, the way I said to do it was correct. I left in tears after my visit. I didn’t even get to talk about what I was there for. She seems as though she doesn’t care, didn’t care to listen. Orders stuff, doesn’t tell you why, and doesn’t talk to you about what you come in for. Doesn’t introduce herself, didn’t Disinfect her… hands. HORRIBLE BED SIDE MANNER. As another health care professional, I set a high standard, but even my standards aren’t extreme. LISTEN to your patients. Sometimes all we need is an ear and a solution. DO YOUR JOB AS A MD. Or please do us a favor and retire so our time isn’t being wasted and we don’t have horrible experiences.

Don't know why some other comments were negative especially about her patient concern, over-prescribing medication and patient preparedness. Both my and my wife's experiences are exactly the opposite. She has an excellent memory, and she examines the patient chart before talking with the patient and does not like to prescribe medication unless it is necessary. For both of us she has been extremely thorough with her questions and examinations. If a problem requires a specialist, she is quick to make the appropriate referral. As you can tell, we are very pleased with her.

Never should have become a MD your suppose to care & be nice to your patients or so I thought. I feel she is a very self absorbed uncaring Dr. After my visit to that office I'll just have to take care of myself I don't want to see anymore Doctors after seeing Dr. Gilchrist

She's always too busy or too uninterested to listen to my concerns! I see her about five minutes before she runs off to someone else The other people in the waiting room wait a long time too I think The lady at the front desk seems overworked. she can be a little rude The employees talk so loud I can hear their conservations!!! Should I be more worried about HIPAA privacy?

the best/greatest female MD I have ever encountered! pleasant, kind, courteous,respectful and takes the time to listen.

I'm almost 60 yrs old and Dr. Doherty Gilchrist is the best Dr. I've ever had. She is truly amazing and my mother who is 90 years old and I both feel the same way. She not only has incredible diagnostic and medical skills, but she is so loving and caring and genuine. We are very blessed to have her.
