Dr. Dolores Malaspina, MD

Dolores Malaspina MD, MPH is the ?Anita and Joseph Steckler Professor of Psychiatry? at NYU, the former chairman of the NYU Bellevue Department of Psychiatry and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University. She now directs the NYU Institute for Social and Psychiatric Initiatives (InSPIRES), which includes the exciting Odyssey Years Project. The project is focused on the health and resilience of young adults, seeking new knowledge about this crucial life transition to maximize human potential and prevent mental illness. Dr. Malaspina?s research has been continually funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) for the last 25 years. She has authored more than 200 scientific papers and serves on several boards that conduct scientific reviews of grant applications and review scientific manuscripts for publication. She is an award winning mentor who is training a new generation of psychiatric research scientists.
