Dr. Dolores Donato Tiongco, MD

She is caring and considerate. As opposed to only throwing a handful of meds at you and sending you on your way, she helps you plan activities to distress and prescribes appropriate pharmacology as needed. She is conservative in her approach as opposed to just handing out benzo's and anti-psychotics so you feel nothing. She encourages exercise, which is very helpful for mental illness.

She seemed professional at first but the more I would see her the less I trusted her opinion. Ive been told by many other doctors I have general anxiety disorder and depression but she said I have adhd. She took me off my former meds and put me on other ones that made me feel much worse. She repeatedly asked me the same questions each visit. Say she was gana do something for the next visit and never have it done or ready and would tell me she would have everything ready by next visit which never happened. Very unprofessional talked to much about her other patient. Which I don't believe medical professionals should do even if you don't use their full name. She made sound like I was crazy or stupid.

All she talked about was her other experiences. Treated me for the wrong things. Put me on medications that made me feel worse then continued to tell me I must be on some type of drug for it to not be working. Suggesting that I should seek help for drug problems when I do not do any drugs. And have never done drugs. Told me that if i wont stop doing drugs that i should no longer see her. She made me feel worthless and stupid and I would not recommend her to anyone. Especially children.

Do not take your child to her. She has traumatized many children including me. She got my diagnosis completely wrong and sent me in a spiral lasting a many many years of my life. She told me my behavior was wrong without looking at the circumstances and looking any my parent's behavior. I was 7 and she continuously told me a was a bad girl. She was the worst psychiatrist I've ever had. It took a lot to work through what she told me. At that young of an age, anyone can make a huge impression on someone, but she took advantage of that and made me feel like a horrible person leading me to attempt suicide a few years later. Don't do this to your child.

Dr. Tiongco is a true professional. She is committed to the difficult task of finding an accurate diagnosis and treatment for pediatric and adult patients. She had been working with my teenage son for several years who was diagnosed with ADHD, low tolerance type. After some experimenting, he is now being treated with a prescription. His confidence, grade point average and motivation has increased significantly.

All Tiongco wanted to talk about was HER experience as a hospital administrator - a hospital for disturbed, adolescent teenage girls. Her recommendations for my serious mental illness: get a dog; swim in the afternoon; videotape myself and watch it later, alone; and give up the idea of marriage. Horrible, HORRIBLE doctor. Did more harm than good!

Dr. Tiongco should only accept child patients. I am 40 years old and went to her for PTSD, which she claims to be experienced in even for adults, but I was only told stories of disturbed adolescent girls she had treated in the past, which had no bearing on my situation. She talked more than she listened. Her recommendations to me for treatment og severe, long-term PTSD were to "get a dog", "swim in the afternoons", and "secretly film yourself interacting with others" to observe and self-correct unwanted behaviors in myself. She did not seem to have the expertise to treat my situation. Before accepting me as a patient I was required to write a comprehensive narrative of my situation that took ~ 2 hours to complete, but she never addressed any of the specifics I wrote about, leading me to believe she skimmed over it or didn't read it at all. Importantly, she arrived OVER 10 MINUTES LATE for one of my appointments, but still charged me for the whole hour (she is very, VERY expensive). I… found her to be more of an administrator than a counselor (she was a long-time hospital administrator for disturbed adolescents), and I found her unprofessional in regard to her promptness, basically taking advantage of my situation and charging me for time she didn't work. In short, Dr. Tiongco seems to "rest on her laurels"; imo it is time for her to retire, or at least quit presenting herself as being able to help adult sufferers of PTSD.

If you want a doctor who doesn't know what she's doing, spends all of your appointment time talking about her other patients and makes up ridiculous crap for you to do, then this doctor is definitely the one for you. INCOMPETENT!!!

I highly recommend Dr. Tiongco, and would do so to anyone! She has great insight and professionalism and had helped us when no other Dr. was able to.
