I went to surgery to get a biopsy of a mass on my heart and my 4th cancer in 18 years. He wanted to make sure I knew I could die and he wanted to know how I felt inside. I didn't appreciate the psychoanalyzing and got frustrated. He became argumentative and called me an angry, mean patient. He wasn't happy until I was crying and admitting my deepest fear that I might die of this 4th cancer. His job is to come in tell me exactly what he is going to do, assess my lucidity, check with the surgeon that my body can take it, and that's pretty much that. His job is not to break the emotional walls that you create so you can be positive when you have surgery. Anytime you go under you can die. I have survived Graft Versus Host IV from Leukemia, Gleason 10 Prostate Cancer, and Colon Rectal Cancer. I had an active DNR for 4 years. I have walked with death for 14 years. He is an Emotional Vampire, they enjoy the pain, fear, and suffering of their patients." December 10, 2024
