Dr. Dominador Diokno Genio, MD

I moved to the big island and needed to find a primary care doctor. He was the only one listed under my insurance. I read reviews beforehand and I should have listened. The office staff is short and unfriendly. I witnessed them quietly talking about patients who had just walked out of the office. From the very beginning Dr. Genio seemed rude.He asked me routine Questions in the beginning like do you have kids and are you married. I said no and he gave me this look and just shook his head in disapproval at me. I'm sorry my beliefs and culture is not the same as his. He didn't try to understand or listen to concerns I would bring up during certain office visits. They over charged me several times for my copay until I finally noticed. He was not friendly at all. On day one, I had my previous physician(who is an amazing doctor and very respected for his work) fax over all my information to Dr. Genio regarding my diagnosis and medications that I have been on for many YEARS . I have taken… appropriate tests to be accurately diagnosed for my conditions that require such medication and have always been responsible with them. Later my insurance for some reason was not paying for my visits to Dr. Genio. Well, I found out he was putting down malingering in my records. Are you kidding me? This doctor is a joke. If you want a friendly, sincere doctor, who will believe your symptoms and listen to your concerns then DO NOT go to him. No wonder he has a low rating.

There are so many issues to address here, it is difficult to know where to begin. With one kind exception, the office staff is difficult and unpleasant and border on incompetent. Billing mistakes are troublesome and messy to resolve. Getting important paperwork completed by deadlines was exasperating. Overall, not a place you want to find yourself.
