Dr. Dominick Cosmo Gadaleta, MD

I usually don't review doctors. But, every once in a while, your experience with one is so egregiously unacceptable, and so over-the-top disrespectful that it's important to speak up and speak out. Dr. Gadaleta seems a well-meaning doctor, yet he is also an extremely arrogant, temperamental character. He hires office staff that is, at turns, nasty and irresponsible: a HIPPA form I'd needed signed by his office for my life insurance policy took no less than 3 mos for them to fax out. My family, consequently, was without life insurance for that whole amount of time while I attempted to track down the doctor's office responsible for the lax hold-up. The nasty, big-mouthed secretary makes sure to offer no apology whatsoever once called out, and instead makes excuses and gets defensive. He has other staff, that despite trying hard, is simply incompetent and doesn't even know how to send over a script or pre-authorization over to the pharmacy electronically accurately without multiple… errors and delays. Recently when I was left with two of my medications unfilled for two days due to his secretaries' errors and on the verge of going into withdrawal from no medication, I brought my legitimate concerns to Dr. Gadaleta's attention. Instead of apologizing and taking any sort of responsibility for his staff's incompetence, he proceeds to go on the attack and lecture me on how I'm a nuisance, expect too much of him, and that since he'd rather not bother is *terminating* our relationship. Like watching a Donny Trump-like toddler tantrum in real time. No notice given whatsoever, and he makes sure, for extra measure, to screw me with no more than a month's worth of one specific medication, while I attempt to find a new doctor in the midst of a pandemic. All this after a $300 appointment two weeks earlier. It's unprofessionalism and lack of accountability/oversight these days in medicine like this that gives doctors a bad name. Gone are the days where respect is a one-way street with patients, Dr. G. Don't expect patients to kiss your pinky ring (you're a doctor, not the Godfather) when you treat your patients impatiently, and irresponsibly like garbage. You're not servicing patients out of the goodness of your heart. Hundreds of dollars, paid out-of-pocket no less, and one expects an office and its boss to run a tight, professional ship. If you can't take the heat, as they say...get out of the kitchen. The only saving grace of this circus of a practice was the doctor's sweet daughter, who occassionally competently and respectfully subbed for the other assistant staff. Perhaps she might remind her dad a thing or two about manners, and/or a thing or two about cleaning house. In the meantime, this practice is not recommended. And as far as I'm concerned, good riddance.

Avoid this Dr. at all costs

Dr Gadaleta is a wonderful doctor. He is intuitive and compassionate, gets to the heart of the matter and makes one feel that they are in the right place for the help they need.

As a health care professional, I know what makes a great doctor. Dominick is not only an absolute genius in his field, but he is one of the most caring practitioners of any specialty I have ever run across. He is completely accessible to his patients at all times, he is responsive and he is truly compassionate. The new doctors of today would do well to emulate this consummate professional. He changed my life and I am forever grateful.

Save your money and health- go elsewhere. This Dr. should not be practicing. He is the antithesis of a competent, ethical, compassionate Dr. Our family has suffered greatly because if his unethical practicing of mental health care.
