Dr. Dominika L James, MD

At first, I thought she was merely another narcissistic doctor. Then I had an appointment when she completely lost it after complaining repeatedly about having to do all the prescribing, that two doctors had quit, she couldn't do it all, primary care doctors had to do some of the prescribing. She then kicked me out of the pain clinic because she said I was allergic to too many medicines. Finally, she ended up screaming over and over "I'm giving you opiates! You should be happy." I could not get out of there fast enough.

Dr. James doesn’t seem to appreciate that patients benefit from the opportunity to be taken seriously and to be assessed by someone they can trust. As a medical professional myself, she seemed more interested in impressing me than in actually helping me. Also, be prepared to be observed by a brass band of groupies including nursing assistants, medical students, and a scribe (whose work she does not check carefully). In the end, she attributed a bogus diagnosis to me and prescribed me a treatment (that was contraindicated for me) for an indication I was not having a problem with.

Truly gifted at helping a person walking through a life with pain. It's complex and takes a lot of listening and compassion. Highly recommend ! Plus she loves dogs.

This Dr does NOT AT ALL have good beside manners at ALL!!!!!! She does not care about people who come to see her that are in pain! She doesn't take the time to listen to us when WE KNOW OUR BODIES, and I'm just so fed up with her and her entire staff!!!

Beside. Manner need to improve. She doesn't listen to you.

She doesn't listen. Does not care about people in pain. Sent me to physical therapy and a pain psychiatrist instead of actually treating me, with no follow up. I spent 4 hours in this office. 3 hours in an exam room with uncomfortable chairs that increased my pain. If you see her, then you are stuck with her and will not be able to see another doctor there. I am in pain, cannot sleep, and have no more options. Yesterday, I had hope because I was going to be seen by someone that could have changed my life.

This Dr. Is very insensitive to people in pain. She can be very rude and does not seem to have the knowledge to treat you with alternative drugs if one does not work. Very long wait at the office while staff are talking and laughing. No concern from Dr. For long wait.

Great straight forward Dr. she does not beat around the bush. If you want straight forward answers she is awesome. If you want a touchy feely type person maybe you should look elsewhere.
