Dr. Don M Lagrone, MD

I have been going to Dr. Lagrone for 4.5 years. He has helped in me so many ways. He is always positive and uplifting and empathetic about my situation. He always returns my calls in a prompt manner. He listens. He listens. He remembers. Doctors are concerned about financials. They want to move patients fast and then just prescribe meds. Meds are important, but listening and understanding are the things that help patients alot. And Dr. Lagrone does that very well.

Has been there by my side since my first visit. He's my hero.

I have shuffled around to many psychiatrists, and I got to say I recently went to my first appointment with Dr. Lagrone and was thoroughly impressed. Instead of the most Doctors I went to who just started out asking me about my symptoms and how I was feeling and then write a script....he focused more on asking me questions about the specific experiences that caused my symptoms. Which lead me to understand that he is NOT the typical doctor who is their to treat the symptoms, but the underlying problem. I have had a specific side effect that I have dealt with for 2 years now, and it has effected my life tremendously. Ever other doctor just told me that I would "just have to deal with it". Dr. Lagrone was empathetic to how I felt and didn't say that. He put me on a plan that will hopefully eliminate the side effect. Finally, most doctors shuffle you in and out as soon as possible. Dr. Lagrone spent about 1.5 hour with me and never looked at the clock. First time appointment with him-… thoroughly impressed. It's not surprising he has a 'Most Compassionate Doctor' award up on his wall for Houston.

I have been seeing him for years,. He is always there for me, spends as much time with me as I need, never rushes me out. I would never consider someone else, he is my friend and rock

Dr. LaGrone is THE BEST psychiatrist anyone can see. He is extremely knowledgeable in every area, including knowledge of medications and their effects. Your session with him is an hour and for that hour he is completely focused on you. He is a great listener, knows exactly what to ask to get the information he needs for his assessment, and gives the greatest advice and coping skills to take with you. I have been to many doctors for myself and for my daughter, and I would never go to anyone else again

At one time the office staff were somewhat difficult, but once you get in the room with Dr. Lagrone it's worth the trouble and/or the wait. He listens. He truly listens. He can read your body language and point out things about yourself you didn't even want to realize were true. But getting to the root of the problem and working your way back up is his specialty. He gives modern and workable advice for your issues and is an expert in pharmaceuticals so that neurology specialization ensures you will be prescribed the very best medication or combination to assist with healing from the inside out. I looked forward to our sessions because I knew my life would be that much better when I walked out. He is the greatest of the great.

only a borderline would turn on a dr this nice. he'll see you thru anything.

I get a block away from his office and then i think about what he said and it all comes together for me.its almost scary but I guess this is what they call empathy.

If you are a patient patient, which is what a patient is, then Dr. LaGrone is your doctor. Dr. L. will respect your requests, and you can FULLY trust him. It takes a lot for me to trust health care providers, especially psychiatrists, and he can really help you if you are candid,honest with him. Very professional and has tremendous respect for his patients. I have no doubt he choose psychiatry as his FIRST choice than get it as last on a list of choices. He has true compassion for his patients. Psychiatry takes time it's not a drive-thru mc donalds. Patience also is a virtue and you'll reap rewards in your life if you're patient with his schedule as he gives 100%++ to all his patients. He and his wife will make you feel at home in the waiting room by sometimes offering beverages or greet you. Laid back at same time. And yes, if you're down in the dumps- thinking of ending your life because smthg seems insumountable- this is the doctor to see. I don't trust ANY other psychiatrist. The… rest work for dracula as far as I'm concerened.
