Dr. Don Dee Sponenberg, MD

Unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and extremely rude. I would never refer or recommend this pediatrician to anyone. Shameful.

I would not reccommend this doctor to anyone. He was appointed to us at the hospital when we had our daughter. He was very rough with our newborn and was very rude to us. Did not try to answer our questions or listen to our concerns. We will NOT be going back.

My daughter was VERY sick when I took her in to see dr Sponenberg. Temp was VERY high. Meds wasn't lowering it. He said that she had a sinus infection but fevers dont normally go close to 104f with a sinus infection. He said several times that "SHE DOES NOT HAVE AN EAR INFECTION!" He kept saying "there is no infection in her ears they are only clogged!" (said several times 10+ w/ me repeating it!) So I took my very sick one home and treated her as a sinus infection. Fever still wouldn't lower much and the following day it was close to 105! So I took her to the er. To find out that he put in her file that she HAD AN EAR INFECTION ON BOTH SIDES plus the sinus infection (which the er dr confirmed)! I dont understand why he would tell time after time that she had no ear infection! but he felt there was another 'underlying issue' to why her fever was so high! While we were at the er we found out that she had pneumonia and bronchitis as well! How did he miss so much? ALSO!!...I had a voice… mail on my phone from his office when I left the er that she had a UTI! The lady said that she was going through her chart and her Urine specimen was positive from his office When he said that also was negative! Needless to say I was VERY MAD! I was told that my very sick little daughter had a sinus infection with an extremely high temp just to find out that in all reality she had PNEUMONIA, BRONCHITIS, DOUBLE EAR INFECTIONS, SINUS INFECTION, and URINARY TRACT INFECTION! Don't know how so much is possible to miss! May seem unbelievable as to her having everything but I have proof! What is the most unbelievable is that a dr can miss so many things wrong! I was very disappointed bc I always thought that he was a very good dr. As he diagnossed her w/ double pneumonia early once before.

We have used Dr. Sponenberg for our children for 24 yrs. Our Grandson now sees him. we drive 80 miles(each way) to continue having him as our children's doctor. It is worth the time to have my children seen by a caring, quality doctor.

Great Doctor, I saw this doctor as a child, he is VERY attentive, I was a patient that saw him frequently as I was a pretty sick child, I always could get an appointment with him at a moments notice. The wait was a little long to be examined but only because he took his time with each and every patient instead of doing a 2min exam and out the door. I only wish I still lived in Missouri so I could bring my own children to him.

Dr. Sponenberg has been my doctor since I was 3.I am now 27 and he is my children's doctor.I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting a great doctor.
