Dr. Don Anthony Tran, MD

I would first off like to thank Dr Tran for his years of service in Bakersfield. It is ever so hard to find a Good Dr let alone one who will stay in a small. He has been my Dr for many years now and I cant thank him enough for his care and concern for my health and top quality treatment you would expect to only find in a large city or facility. I hope he never leaves Bakersfield as I would want to move with him.His time,bedside manner,prompt and accurate treatment is the best. If you can get in to see I highly recommend him for all your family needs.

Dr Tran entered the room with a rolling device and said hello . i said hi. are you here to take vitals. he said no . i said confused who are you. he said dr tran . i thought he was a teck . Because he was just said hello with a rolling device. I'd never seen dr tran before. so anyway. he ordered a TEST + 2 and made them stat ! sent me home . 10:34 pm still haven't heard anything ? why order them stat ? I'm still vary sick. O WELL. HMO. ps. phlebotomist no personally :(

The most thorough Dr in Bako he listens then treats very good best side manners

You could not ask for a better Dr.,especially at BFMC. I always receive excellent care whenever I go to see him and he is always receptive to my concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.The staff that works with him are also excellent.

When I first saw Dr. Tran, he looked me straight in the eye and listened intently to what I said. He was warm and friendly, and I felt very comfortable with him. However, as time went on, he became increasingly distant and non-responsive to my questions and requests for his help. Last time I saw him, he was condescending, and as much as told me I didn't know what I was talking about and I did not know how I was feeling. The last few times I have seen him, he has rushed me through as if he had somewhere to go, and he has stopped listening to what I have to say. Of course, I have no way of knowing, but I suspect a lot of his behavior has to do with the plethora of patients Bakersfield Family Medical Center piles onto his schedule. Still, that is no excuse. That is the last time "my doctor" will tell me I don't know what I'm talking about! I have spent the last three hours looking for another doctor. This is the first time in my life I have had to depend on HMOs. It is just… pitiful. I believe Dr. Tran has the potential of becoming a first rate doctor; but he is working for an HMO who CONTROLS everything about his practice. They do not, however, control how he treats his patients, and Dr. Tran's treatment of me has gone from excellent to zero!

This was my first visit with Dr. Tran so I was alittle nervous. He spent a lot of time with me and sat next to me during our visit. He very kind and courteous and listened and answered all my questions. I will definitely go back.

Dr Tran is very nice, but his patients need to be very proactive and if his advise leaves them with any questions get a second opinion.
