Dr. Donald S Adema, DO

Why should it take over 6 weeks to get a referral? They are not proactive! As an HMO, I hear they get bonuses for holding down spending? At our expense? They get rewarded for not making referrals? I’m done!!!

Dr. Adema has helped me more than any other doctor in my lifetime. I began seeing him at 48 years old. I was on several medications. I'm now 60, and on no medications and feel great! I will never look for another doctor as long as his practice is open!

DR. Adema doesn't just take your vitals, pat you on the head and send you home. He listens, runs pertinent tests, and gets to the core of your problems. He is the best!

I think Dr. Adema is a good doctor. However, it is not easy to see my Dr. at just anytime. I have to go to urgent care for problems like UTI's and nosebleeds. Why is it as a patient I cannot call and be seen in a decent amount of time?

So refreshing to have a Dr. that actually spends time with you and cares about you. Definitely not your avaerage Dr. His holistic approach is awesome!

I love Dr Adema!!! He's been very supportive of my special needs!!! But when there is an emergency need, he cannot see you for a week or move. When you call in with a question about a need, you do not get a reply. I was in ER, then hospital, then needed a skilled nursing facility. All of these did not know how or want to understand my needs to take care of me. Called Dr Adema, family doc for some help. But nothing. I had no advocate to get the help I needed. The 2nd time in ER, Hosp, Skilled nursing, I was in agony from lack of meds and could not move or sleep. But doc there says I have to wait 2 more days to see facility's doc for changes to meds. I was forced to go to ER and then home (which was extremely difficult because I was already disabled before my falls. I had no one to help me!!! :-( I was all alone, cuz all the docs I saw had no clue. Dr Adema thankfully does, but he is overworked, doing too much. He does care and really want to help people. He is just overwhelmed at times… with too many special need patients.

I wouldn't take myself or my family anywhere else but to see Dr. Adema! He is the BEST!

After reading all the reviews of Dr. Adema I find that a lot of people experienced similar negative experiences. He really does not care about follow up or referring out to specialists. He does not seem to want to get involved if the case might be difficult. Dr. Adema is not supportive and does not follow through on what emergency docs have suggested regarding a patient. Plus the staff is rude and not helpful.It concerns me greatly that he is in still in practice.

I have been going to Dr. Adema for about 5 years now, I think he himself is wonderful, however his staff is atrocious enough that I am highly considering changing doctors. The wait room times are anywhere between 1-2 hours unless you get there a half hour early because they are ALWAYS overbooked. Forget getting a call back when you say you will, I am on day 3 of a call back which I have been calling every day. Their office hours are a joke. They are closed on Wednesdays , have 2 hour lunches and work from 9-11:30 am on Fridays. The staff are rude, and could care less about your needs. It saddens me to think I may be leaving a great doctor because I can no longer handle the gross incompetence of his staff.

All I asked for was one question before the week=end started never received a call back. My Thyroid was out of whack. no Estrogen in my body from cream.Left feeling overwhelmed husband is fishing for 3 days & nights.I'm all alone. I needed that 1 phone call. $30.00 co-pay First words out of receptionist mouth was how is your sister. TO MANY PATIENTS! NOT enough time with Dr. Adema.I like the old days better 1995. One phone call back would have made me feel at least part of the team there.
