Dr. Donald Arthur Behnke, MD

It's impossible to get an appointment when you're sick. The rigid, uncaring receptionist doesn't care and refuses to even try to work you in. An appointment two months out is useless when you're sick TODAY. Have been a patient for over 15 years. See over and over patients being treated poorly by the receptionist/scheduler. Am going to change doctors.

Dr. Behnke is always willing to listen to the patient. He takes into account what the patient says when making a decision. You feel like he you are making the decision together.

He diagnosed my unusual condition immediately ( Polymyalgia rheumatica ) Took time to explain all effects of the disease and the drug he prescribed. Gave me written information for further reading and followed closely the ups and downs of my condition

He is unprofessional and should take in consideration a full time caregiver to his patient with alzheimer's. Duh! My client is his patient and he is asking her questions which are totally inappropriate given her mental capacity, and totally disregarded what I had to say. So if she said she was fine, but was bleeding somewhere, he would take her word for it and let her walk out. Please save your life and do not ever trust this doctor. Male chauvanist! He is dangerous to the elderly community at large. Ban him from sun city center!

The Dr. refused to see my husband, who was a patient, because the Dr. said he was depressed. My hussband had lost 20 lbs. and wasfinally seen by Dr. Behnke's physican assistant who ordered a CAT scan and my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died within 3 and 1/2 months. I found this behavior to be insulting and dangerous.

I asked repeatedly for information about a test result{MRI), and for over a week have not heard anything. Doesn't it seem that this is a total disregard for the care and piece of mind of the patient? He certainly has shown a lack of professinalism in my case. I am seeking another doctor.
