Donald Harvey Bernstein, MD

Dr. Bernstein has been my primary physician for 15 years. He spends dedicated time with me, offers full explanation of potential conditions or findings, and is available 24/7. Kaitlin (office manager) is also wonderful. I commute from Suffolk County so I can keep Dr. Bernstein as my primary physician.

Dr. Bernstein has changed life for our family. At 95 I was looking for a new doctor and was blessed to find Dr. Bernstein. He is very knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, attentive, and communicative. My daughters have the same opinion as they too have had the opportunity to talk with him and receive followup information. All of us, my daughters and I, would highly recommend Dr. Bernstein without reservation.

I will be leaving Dr. Bernstein and mdvip after less than just this first year. He does a lot of routine tests, which is fine, but never goes beyond that to address new symptoms that come up. Also, he takes crazy blood-work tests at face value - even when it is almost certain the lab has botched somethiing. Not much of a critical thinker - more of a standard issue doc. As well, his referrals are at Best mediocre. I have done FAR better using the internet to get to really Good specialists, people teaching at NYU Langone.

A lot of times when I go to a doctor I feel they don't give me the time I need to explain my whole health story and what's been going on. That was not the case with Dr. Bernstein. He listened to me, asked follow up questions, and took the time to explain certain concepts to me that I didn't understand. I felt that he really cared about my well being. I would highly recommend him!

He has been my doctor for fifteen years and has always been caring, attentive to my concerns, and patient with my questions. I'm in better health now than I was fifteen years ago. They don't come any better than Dr. Bernstein

The doctor was extremely personable, caring and his bedside manner was very pleasant. He gave me the feeling that I was the only patient on his mind at that moment and he followed up the next day. I rate him overall as terrific.
