Dr. Donald Barry Boyd, MD

Dr Boyd is the most caring and resourceful doctor I have had ever been to. Quite simply he saved my life.

Due to Dr. Boyd not paying attention to his patients health, I lost my husband due to a septic shock. Dr. Boyd had him on chemotherapy even though he kept losing weight and having a low blood count. Dr. Boyd said my husband is losing weight due to depression but that was not true. He was losing weight because Dr. Boyd did not see that my husband had sepsis until it was too late and he passed away due to a septic shock. He came to me and said “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I thought it was due to depression.” I had to watch my husband slowly fade away for weeks until there was nothing left to do. Stay away from this doctor.

Dr. Boyd (how he still has a license to practice is criminal in itself) promised my mother with advanced cancer the world (as it seems he typically does). As she laid on her death bed (about 2 months into his "treatment"), in his death chambers at Greenwich Hospital... he still assured us it wasn't the cancer. The very cancer he had been treating, and had told us was under control. On the day she died he simply came in to record her time of death, something he has quite a bit of experience at, and that was the last I've heard of him. He didn't care about the resuscitation attempts, expediting a blood transfusion, anything... as it wasn't his family so he clearly had not a care in the world but to record her time of death. I'm deeply saddened he his still practicing and even more horrified to see others have had the same experience. My mother died on a respirator in a hospital, instead of further surviving the disease and thriving at home because of Dr. Boyd's uneducated, illogical,… and irresponsible decisions. Please take these words to heart, if you are considering this "Doctor." He is a failed doctor who doesn't dare work with healthy people as he'd have too many law suits to stay in business with his reckless manner and irresponsible practice. Read up on him, save your family member or loved one, and go elsewhere... anywhere else.. I urge you.

Beware of this charlatan! He promised the world to my mother who, as an individual with advanced stage cancer, was terrified of dying. He exploited her hope but when treatment time came, was no where to be found. I texted and called him over 3 times to ask questions regarding my mother's deteriorating condition. He had virtually no empathy for her side effects of treatment and the cancer itself. He recommended an over-the-counter medication that he should have KNOWN would interact with my mom's other medical condition. Giving her the medication lead to her death from sepsis. This man is careless and won't listen to you unless you indicate an interest in buying his book, of course! I hope that other patients will benefit from my comments.

Dr. Boyd is a very compassionate, competent doctor.

I've been an oncology patient of Dr. Boyd for over 20 years. Now that I am "cancer free" he is my primary care physician. He teaches at Yale and is a unique combination of a great hands on physician and an accomplished teacher and researcher...fully versed in current research and thoughtful about mind-body and patient centered care.

Dr. Boyd is brilliant; however, follow-up with details has been unacceptable. He no longer is engaged in my treatment plan. Very sad and dissppointing.

Dr. Boyd goes beyond most physicians in his explanations of his diagnosis and treatment. He crosses over from traditional to complementary medicine as needed, including nutritional recommendations in his treatment plan. He is very intelligent and will spend as much time as necessary to explain what he is thinking.
