Dr. Donald F Figliola JR., MD

I've been seeing Dr. Figliola since he started his practice. He has helped me in many ways. He's extremely knowledgeable and communicates very well.

Very concerned with this practice. I was always a prompt patient arriving early to all my appointments. I had a medical emergency and was in the ER for 2 days. I scheduled an appointment with this practice after I was released from the ER. Due to medical reasons and FL law I was unable to drive. I arrived 16 minutes late after calling and informing the office manager, Karey, I would be late due to not being able to drive. When I entered the office she rudely told me we would have to reschedule. Since I'm unable to drive for 6 months and left work early I asked her if she would please ask the doctor if he would still see me since the waiting room was empty. The office manager always has a negative attitude towards patients. The doctor still took me, billed my insurance and took my co pay. A couple weeks later I received a typed letter from the front office discharging me from the practice. This was the first time I was late. I had a slight panic attack in the waiting room which is… common for someone who takes anxiety medication the doctor prescribes it to me so they should be aware of my condition. I never used foul language to the office manager and would have handle the situation differently if the office manager handled it differently. She spoke down to me initially so being human nature I responded in the same manor she started. I have new onset seizure disorder and to find a new doctor with this new diagnosis is very concerning. I feel as though the office manager, Karey, is heartless and isn't concerned with any of the patients. I feel as though since the doctor took me she most likely over exajerated the altercation that took place to try to prove a point. I have never received a warning of any kind due to poor behavior. I work in the service industry and when a guest is out of line we give them a warning before we discharge them. I also see 150 people a month and have always referred them to my doctor. Most women will agree it's harder to find a stylist than a doctor. The fact that this practice will discharge a patient who is going through serious medical changes without a warning is very concerning to me. I already know 5 of my guests will not be returning to this practice due to the lack of professionalism and compassion the office manager has towards patients. I was a patient of Dr. Gelia but Karey and Dr. Figliola acted unprofessional while I was waiting for Dr. Gelia. They were obviously talking poorly about me and pointing ate directly behind the desk. I saw Dr. Figliola once before I was able to see Dr. Gelia and have never felt he had compassion towards his practices patients. I really did enjoy Dr. Gelia for the past 5 years but is a God send that I will never have to deal with the front office again. We have a saying in my industry "the support staff is the first and last person a guest sees". I really hope the best for Dr. Gelia and hope the office manager finds peace with herself and learns compassion towards others.

I've been going to Dr. Fig for approximately 4 years. The very first appointment I tried to make was difficult due to the rudeness of the person making the appointment. I finally got in and the visit was fine. However, 80% of the time trying to make an appointment is difficult because the person making the appointment seems to go out of their way to be difficult. I continued to go to the office because of convenience more than anything else. Today I went into the office because I was involved in a car accident. When I made the appointment the person did not tell me that I needed to authorize the ER report before the doctor could see me. She also did not tell me that I needed to bring in information about the accident. I was only told this once I questioned why I was paying my health insurance co-pay rather than having my car insurance pay for the visit. After waiting in the office for over 45 minutes they finally told me that the doctor couldn't see me today because they… didn't have the results from the ER visit. I of course because 'difficult' after waiting 45 minutes only to be told that I would have to come back. I left the office with the understanding that they were getting the test results from the hospital and would reschedule. Well they just called me, like the person in the Feb 5th, 2010 review, they told me that they will not treat me and will no longer care for me in the future. The front office staff is rude, difficult, and incompetent. It also appears that if anyone tells them about their incompetency and/or voices a negative opinion about it the staff will run to the doctor complaining. Rather than the doctor wondering why patients are being difficult he simply backs up his staff and 'divorces' you. Most unprofessional doctor I've ever had.

I started seeing Dr. Fig several years ago because he was my husband's primary care physician and I always heard just how great he was. He is the most efficient doctor I have ever been to - I have never had to wait more than a couple minutes from my scheduled appointment time. He is personable with a caring, friendly personality. I feel like I am his only patient when I am with him as he remembers me and my conditions. I am continually amazed at his intelligence as it does not matter what issue is at hand, he has always been knowledgeable on the subject. I always felt like a needed to find a doctor who truly knew and cared about me. I found him. Thanks Dr. Fig!

I've gone to this practice for 10 years and all of a sudden the office staff became very confrontational with me and rude after they made several mistakes on my account and put me in collections for errors made on their part not to submit a claim to insurance. After calling them and discussing this I became a problem patient and they in fact didn't want to give me a refund and told me I could have a credit. I never heard from them so I called GMS billing and got my refund check. When I call four months later to make an appt for an emergency sick visit they denied me medical attention and told me they sent me a "divorce letter" which I never did recieve. I told this to the dr he called me a liar and said don't call them anymore. I've never been treated like this in my life by anyone and nothing I did warranted this treatment as a paying patient and customer. I do not recommend them. There are so many great dr's out there and this could happen to you. I went to another dr and was… diagnosed strep throat got antibiotics. Do yourself a favor don't get involved with this practice. You could have a more serious medical condition than I did and they could "divorce" you too. God Bless!!

Dr. Figliola is the most attentive doctor I have ever been to. His office is very organized.
