Dr. Donald Franklin Gardner, MD

there have been no issues for me with this doctor and he was the Dr. my stepfather used who was a doctor to the 10th power himself, he is straight to the point and tells you what it is not "what you want to hear" if he told me i was obese i would take his word for it. some people just do not like forward doctors. there are others out there. myself i want the straight scoop. i am in no way related to Dr Gardner other than a patient. so no motives here but to be accurate as possible.

Great doctor

A female friend recommended him to me. She takes her mother to him, and sits in with her mother during the office visit. I went by myself, so no one was in the back room with me when he came in. He came in the room, closed the door, and the first thing he said was, "I don't usually say this, but you are OBESE." Then he started to push getting weight loss surgery, and was adament that I tell the center he had sent me. Can we say kickbacks? On another visit he was so rude and upset that he started yelling at me about a medication he wanted me to take that I was rather scared about (It involved giving myself shots, and needles scare me.). A nurse rushed in to see why he was yelling. That night he called me at home to say he was just joking around and hadn't been upset. I did not go back again and would not recommend him to anyone, except to a male.

I would not recommend this doctor for diagnosing issues with low libido. He turned his back on me.

A thorough exam was given and results were discussed in detail. I've never had a doctor (exception Dr. Shapiro) spend this much time making sure all bases re my health were covered. He has a check list that encompasses the patient's total health. I know, because I was recommended to him, for his total care. Dr. Exceptional education. He's up to date!! Gave me current publications as reference to several of my questions. Very trustworthy.

Dr. Gardner is thorough and uses the time to examine every medical detail. Communication is clear and punctual with the office team. This popular practice is busy, however, it's evident that there is individual care given to each patient. Not only do I feel confident in their expertise, I am relaxed in knowing that I'm getting care that I can trust.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gardner's many years. He has always given me excellent advice and care. I love his physician's assistant too. She is so knowledgeable I don't mind seeing her if he is not available. He has always made time to answer all my questions. Always ran any test to get to the bottom of my issues. Takes a personal interest in me as a person. His staff is the same way.I would recommend him to family and friends. Have never waited long in his office either. Lover him!

I had been going to another Dr. for my Hypothyroid treatment. A friend recommended Dr. Gardner and she was so right. Dr. Gardner and his staff are professional, caring, and really listen to the patient. I feel better than I have in years because Dr. Gardner is truly listening and getting to the root cause of the problem.

Literally and figuratively speaking. I always have to remind him why I am there, what my diagnosis is, etc. He doesn't seem to know my chart even after being his patient for over two years. The wait is usually close to an hour. One time after waiting an hour and a half, I peeked out of the room and discovered he was eating his lunch; my appointment was in the morning! The staff was embarrassed and they did not charge me for this visit, but the long wait is typical for his office. Often, he is running late and when I ask if he is going to manually check my thyroid, he says he'll do it next time, rushing through the appointment.Needless to say, I am no longer a patient.

Dr. Gardner and his staff are the best.
