Dr. Donald John Gass

This past summer, Dr. Gass extracted my wisdom teeth and performed a genioplasty and placed cheek implants at the same time. As a 19 year old male, I was very self conscious about my recessive chin. I would always feel the need to strain to pull my lips together and my profile looked bad. Dr. Gass addressed all of my concerns. To say I am happy with the results would be an understatement because I am thrilled. I now have a much stronger chin and cheekbones. Initially, another doctor had recommended I have a chin implant, but after researching I concluded a genioplasty made more sense. The recovery was not near what I anticipated and the staff was great.

I took my son in to have his decayed molar extracted. I had several consultations and was dreading the thought of paying for an implant and crown. So when Dr. Gass recommended that we transplant his wisdom tooth to use instead of an implant, I was blown away. That was eight months ago and I did not want to write a review until I knew it would work. It looks like the original tooth. No other surgeon that I consulted with recommended this. Best decision I ever made was seeing Dr. Gass.

I visited Dr. Gass to have two wisdom teeth removed. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had at the doctors office (dentist or otherwise). Shortly before being put under, he engaged in conversation in which he questioned my political benefits, or his assumption of them. It was prior to my departure for the Peace Corps. Dr. Gass is extremely conservative, which by itself, should not effect ones choice to visit him. However, to essentially berate a customer just prior to being put under a general anesthesia is not professional. Whether or not his criticisms were valid, the conversation was extremely inappropriate and it was neither the time nor place to discuss them. I would strongly suggest that anyone thinking of giving him business re-consider. He has extremely poor bedside manner and is generally unprofessional. His work as an oral surgeon is also sub-par, a reputation that is widely known throughout the valley.

I love this oral surgeon! I called a lot of oral surgeon to get an idea of what it would cost just for a consultation and Dr. Gass was the cheapest by far! I had a growth on my gum that had to be biopsied. He took it out the same day as the consult which I was so happy about. I felt no pain as he was doing it and no pain after. There was no blood either. Dr. Gass was very nice and pleasant. He is very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. He made me feel very at ease. If I ever need an oral surgeon, I will go back to Dr. Gass where ever he is.

Three of our children have now had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Gass. They each had a very positive experience. The recovery period was actually very short and was exactly as Dr. Gass had said it would be. He uses a surgical technique that really seems to minimize pain and make for a quick recovery. Dr. Gass and his staff were very kind, professional and attentive to our children and to all of our questions and concerns. I would highly recommend Dr. Gass. It was great to find such an excellent oral surgeon and one who is also honest and forthright.
