Dr. Donald Wayne Gregory, MD

This review is regarding Dr Gregory's staff not him. I have seen Dr Gregory off and on for the past 17 years however have not seen him since 2010. Just recently, I have been trying to schedule an appt to see him for some symptons and the appt clerk Jessie was so rude and unprofessional. She told me she will call me back after talking to the doctor but never did. I left a message that afternoon and called her again the following day. She then told me since I have not been seen since 2010 my chart was in storage and she will have to get the chart first then talk to the doctor before making an appt for me. She never apologized just made some excuse that she was at another office so she didn't have the information that's why she didn't call me back. She then stated it will take at least three days to get the chart from storage and then may take some undetermined amount of time to see if I can be seen. I was really upset since I have been with Dr Gregory since 1997 so I made a… comment that she didn't seem like she wanted me to see the doctor so I might have to find another cardiologist and she just said ok and hung up on me. I called back and left a message for the doctor's assisant and she has not called me back either. I called again the day after and asked to speak to another person and all I got was somebody's voicemail and that person didn't call me back either. This was the most frustrating experience ever. I just can't believe that every appt would need to be approved by the doctor first. Ridiculous! No wonder people just off and die because they cant see the doctor.

In the spring of 2010 my 93 year old grandmother was diagnosed with CHF (congestive heart failure), this was after many major symptoms and complaints by my grandmother. He did even do an angiogram to look at her arteries! Several months later in Fall of 2010 she had a heart attach and so he finally did an angio and discovered many of her arteries are blocked, dont you think he should of done this a LONG time ago? Unfortunately after stent placement her CHF continued to get much worse (even though he said it's likely she will be able to live alone at home again..) well needless to say that didnt happen as he lungs were filling up with fluid and she couldnt breath or walk. My biggest concern was that he did NO follow up after the stent placement! Despite 6 calls to his office, he never once came to the hospital to check on her! THis is completely unacceptable medically. Just a few days before Christmas, my dad went to his office and literally begged to have him come see my grandma and… his nurse said she's sure he will come later that day after procedures in the cath lab. Well, surprise no show again, all as my grandma continued to rapidly decline. His office is next to the hospital non the less. How hard would it have been for Dr. Gregory to stop by for a few minutes?? Basically, my grandma is otherwise very health and looks like she's 70, but Im afraid Dr. Gregory just wrote her off due to her age. If you want a Dr. that doesn't have ANY medical oversight well then this is the Dr. for you. It has been very upsetting for my grandma and the family to see a cardiologist who just doesn't seem to care.
